The first half seems feasible enough. The pandemic likely played a role here, but NYC doesn’t look to have ever had a big Tracksmith “community” outside of the groups they sponsor. (Starting that was allegedly supposed to be Cain’s gig.)
The second half is suspect — Cain had a variety of open cases against the Swoosh before Tracksmith brought her on. Why should they care? Everyone needs to work somewhere.
She didnt have a lawsuit open, these werent monetary damage cases. So her taking on the monetary damage case changed a lot of things

I started a thread questioning what was going with Atalanta last December since it had very few athletes and none that would qualify for anything but a gear-only deal. It looks like Jamie Morrissey has left and only Aoibhe Richardson and Karissa Nelson remain (if you don't count Mary Cain as an athlete).

Actually, liablioty should mary cain have continued pursuing litigation against nike, while being publicly supported by tracksmith, could transfer some liability of financial damage to tracksmith because they are giving a platform for her to make false claims against a competing brand

I mean, i am well sourced in nyc running, never claimed to know the internals of tracksmith, only that people with internal knowledge spread that she did not meet her obligations of work ethic within tracksmith and was terminated as a result. Tracksmith had initially expressed interest in Atalanta but as her profession at tracksmith came to an end, so did their relationship with atalanta
