Incredible how good Jakob must be to make it look it like others weren't even trying. World has never seen a talent like this. Oomaz boy is absolutely devastated it's not an African that won. And they won't if Jakob is running.
It might not have come through on TV, but Jakob was clowning during the second half of the race. Looking around at the crowd, the occasional gesture, changing speeds. I said to myself, "Either he think he owns these guys, or he knows he has no chance and is pretending like he doesn't care." Well, we know which one it was. He had no respect for his 5k competition, not when the pace was that slow.

He would have won that 5000 even if it was beer they were passing out instead of water. I’ve never seen anything like the eventual champion take water x 2 in a 5000. I ran the SF 1/2 marathon today (slowly) and did not grab water so as not to upset my rhythm (haha!). No, but the 5000 m world champion did twice. That’s legendary.

He needs to move to the 5 and 10. Combining his 1500 ability with his threshold is something we’ve never seen before. 62 second laps are jogging for him. He could win the 5 and 10 double for at least a decade if he chooses.
