Look, your probably right that Fisher shouldn’t be predicted higher than 4th, but kinda un-cool to call those who differ clowns. He’s in the conversation, he’s made fans, and that’s awesome. I’d love to see him do it.
My rank order of likely medalists:1(abc) Cheptegei, Barega, Ingebrigsten
2(abcde) Kejelcha, Krop, Kipkorir, Fisher, Ahmed
3(ab) Edris, Ebenyo.
I might be way low on Krop and Kipkorir, but that’s my gut. Same with Edris, but I think new blood favored.
And, BTW, Mo Ahmed is the guy who deserves more hype from let’s run. 1s behind Fisher at 10k and 5s faster at 5k (1 year separated, and out vs in, but so what). He’s amazing. Anyway, more love for Mo, even though I think Fisher still a notch better at this moment.
This looks right to me. Oscar Chelimo maybe should be in the 3rd group. Complete wild card, but talent runs in his family (Kiplimo is his hald-brother). I think Mburu should inspire Kimeli/Krop. If they race that boldly their fitness puts them in the medal mix. But if they overdo it or wait too long, they’ll be off the podium.
