Instead of maintaining your pace and ending up running behind them? With the way things are especially in the UK I feel uncomfortable running behind or even near female runners because I can tell they get worried, especially if it's on quiet trail. Awkward situation but I find the best thing to do is blast past them and get out of the situation as quickly as possible.
Usually, except this one half marathon, where I started slow and move up through the pack. Except when I got behind a woman with the most wonderful spandex-clad bum. Just cruised behind her for a few minutes until I got half a chubby - then moved on.
I should add also that you must be particularly reading comprehension challenged if you think those guys are “hypothetical” when there are guys admitting to it in this very thread. Sounds like you might be one them and I hurt your little ego.
hahaha you can pretend that my "little ego" was hurt all you want bud, but that doesn't change the fact that you humble-bragged about not wanting to impress random runner girls, and then made a corny joke making fun of, again, hypothetical guys that sprint past girls to show off. All of this from completely out of nowhere because you brought this topic up out of the blue.
And THEN, you sat there waiting for people to incorrectly call you out on misunderstanding the original post, so you could throw around the corny insult that people are "English deficient" or "missed the English" in your post.
Finally, there isn't anyone admitting to it "in this very thread". There's one guy who mentioned that he can't stand when WOMEN overtake HIM, so he tries to get them back. The very first thing he says in that post is that he doesn't blaze past them. There's a difference between trying to race a girl who already passed you because it bothered you, and sprinting past a slow one to impress them. Guess you're the one who can't comprehend, you imbecile.
Ha, got you to type a few more paragraphs of nonsense just to serve your ego, serves you right.

I just made you feel like a complete retard by breaking down all of your pathetic behaviors and your only comeback is that you "tricked me" into wasting my time...go to sleep pipsqueak
Let it go man. You exposed your idiocy by letting my completely normal post rent headspace.

I think you're the one who needs to let it go bud. If I wasn't currently living rent free, you wouldn't feel the need to keep responding and tapping that dorky down arrow every time I make fun of you
I'm not your average runner, i race 800m and 1500m professionaly, in those distances only elite men can beat me and not a single women in history of athletics has ever ran a faster 800m and 1500m than me. I agree with you that women can beat me in other distances in which i dont compete in, i actually myself said that i lost a training run to a marathon woman who whopped my ass.
What kind of a professional 800m and 1500m runner would ever try to “race” a woman on a training run? The odds of being passed by a woman would be fairly low but you make it sound like it is not that rare for you as you race them you claim. Secondly, how the hell could you lose? This is not believable on so many levels. You are lying about something and it certainly is pathetic. If you race 1500m as a professional you should be able to run 30 minutes or faster for 10000m? This is all very bizarre.
I shouldnt and cant run 30 minutes for 10 000m because im not a 10k runner. As for women passing me it happens when im already 1 hour into a tempo run where my pace has dropped significally, a speedy woman would overtake me. I dont chase every woman that overtakes me. I chase athletic, skinny woman who i know will run for at least few laps at that pace and could give me a good workout.

You are a professional 1500m runner who cannot run 30 minutes for 10K? This makes no sense. Can you break 31 minutes?

I am a professional 800/1500 runner, i am also good at the 400m sprint and the 400m hurdles. The 10k is the distance i am not good at, my pb is 36:22.
You are lying. You are not a professional 1500m runner. IF you were, you would have run faster than 36:22 even in practice.
Whatever helps you sleep at night. I will keep running and racing.
36:22 is about 5:55 per mile. You would have to be a sub 4 minute miler if you are a professional 1500m runner. So you must not understand how to lie very well. There is no way a 4 minute miler would be doing 5:55 per mile for his 10K race pace.

Wait till i tell you that i probably couldnt even run a full marathon? Shocking right?
What was Symonds 10k time? It was even worse than mine and i am almost 5 seconds slower than him in the 800m.
I love long distance running and as i lose my speed with age i will probably move to 5k and maybe even 10k but at the moment its impossible for me to run sub36 10k with my current muscle mass and size, believe me i tried.

I understand you are jobless in addition to being stupid for randomly spewing hate on a completely innocuous commenter on a thread. Ha ha, the downvotes are not me, don’t care so much.

I really don't know what you're talking about here. I'm in the UK and I don't find there are any such issues. I am generally going faster than any women I see running so I don't find I need to blast past them anyway. I nearly always acknowledge other runners, more out of habit than anything. I often don't get anything back from men or women.
Maybe you're uncomfortable because you're socially awkward and unsure how to interact with people in general.
I run mostly on trails at quiet times of the day and the presence of any runner makes me feel safe. Anyone with a sweat-wicking tee is good. Anyone with any kind of cadence is fine. Love the runner's nod.
Also I relax when a guy has a dog. If you're just walking around on your lonesome in khakis or jeans, I don't know. I mean, everyone has a right to take a walk but I get a little concerned, just enough to turn down my music and make sure they're not following me.
I usually run on popular paths with enough traffic that things aren’t too awkward, so I don’t worry much about it.
One bad one: I went down to the track one night pretty late, maybe 9pm. It’s dark down there, just lighting from the parking lot. I got through warmups and was probably a mile or so into a tempo run when I suddenly came up on another runner, who was wearing dark clothes, running terribly slow in lane 1. Neither of us had any clue the other was there- she must have just arrived a minute before I saw her. It jumped me a little when I first saw her and then I wasn’t sure what to do, so I quickly moved out to lane 6 to pass wide. Well, I passed her and she just about lost her mind. She was also wearing headphones (so dumb… female alone at night that can’t hear). When I passed, she jumped two feet in the air and started screaming and flailing her arms all over. I shouted “sorry” to her and she said something to the effect that she was fine. I felt so bad that I just stopped running when I knew she could see me and went back to my car. Poor lady.
