This has nothing to do with him being a good 100m runner. MANY people from MANY countries have problems getting visas to the US in a timely fashion. I am not talking about travel visas. Many bands from Europe have trouble obtaining visas to come to the US and perform concerts. There is a festival that I have been to on numerous occasions and they announce their roster of bands a year in advance. Some of those bands still are unable to obtain visas to perform because of delays, even though they knew they were going to be coming for over a year. It isn't that they are being denied. They just don't get the visas issued in time to be able to travel to the US for the concert. And it seems to be very random. Some have no problem at all, and others can't get it in time. This has been happening for quite a few years now. I don't know why it is such a problem. I would think that

Stupendously stupid remark. You can't "sneak" anyone through any visa process. Either they're with the team in some capacity or not.

As for the American public's indifference to track, I agree and think Diamond League status should be withdrawn from Pre and be awarded to a more receptive venue.

Jeez man stop with the constant FUD. It’s a tricky situation but seems like it’s heading to a positive resolution. Hope the same for the 10,000m woman’s athlete encountering difficulties. For Omanyala, there is a large break after the heats to rest and sleep off any jet lag.

Unless the US can guarantee timley approval of visas for participants they really shouldn't be awarded these kinds of international sporting events.

80 people were approved for visas. The Kenyan delegation sent the list to the embassy in batches so as to disguise the real number of 112. Pretty corrupt.

as for “diamond league” status; again, nobody cares. There will be a few thousand (if that) people who all post on this board that would be mildly upset. No one would even notice outside of that incredibly small group.

The U.S. is not the problem, we routinely host the largest sporting events in the world, which includes hosting the Olympics serval times.

This hasn't only affected Kenyans.
