I know a lot about pro cycling, follow it closely, and have friends in Europe who monitor all the teams and cyclists. Podgacar is a generational talent with high lactate threshold and has great comfort on the bike. He has both the speed for time trialing and climbing skills. He rarely goes into the red zone.
While it’s always possible he could be doping with some new technique, he’s tested everyday, and there are no real secrets in the peloton. He’s won the TdF twice with average teams. He shoes no weakness on the climbs, time trials, downhill, or anywhere else.
if he is dirty it will be quite a disappointment, as he seems to be more “natural” on the bike than any prior stars of the sport. At his age, he could win 7 Tours and still be less than than 30.
