Good point. Years ago there was a professional cyclist that posted here and was prominently featured across all races for wins/podium yet never joined TDF.

It was discovered that his blood work showed some anabolic abnormalities and he came on here with defending his innocence. In order to prove this he bought the remaining shelf of his amino acid supplement hiring outside testing he proved that his legal amino acid supplement was tainted. Instead of 4+years he got it reduced to less than a year.

Hey morons, Tygart USADA took down Lance Armstrong, pursuing him relentlessly after he essentially had retired. Does that seem corrupt to you? Name one other national anti-doping agency that has gone after a national hero, which Armstrong was in the US. For example, you think the Jamaican ADA would have or ever still would take down Usain Bolt? Not a f-ing chance. In fact, the head of the Jamaican ADA was a whistleblower about the corruption in her own agency. So get off it. To me, it's incredibly interesting -- not proof of anything but still interesting -- that Tygart would raise some doubts about Houlihan's case. He has plenty of credibility in my book.

Sure.....Tygart! For the record it was Floyd Landis, Betsy, and Oprah who took down Lance. Landis was spilling the beans to all the European agencies to try to get out of his positive drug test from the Tour de France. Landis continued talking and talking, only corroborating what Betsy Andreu has been publicly telling everyone for decades. Oprah then gave that interview where Lance confessed to systematically doping all his team mates and himself. Travis Tygart did squat. All Tygart did was write up the report to take all the credit of the public knowledge and what the European anti-doping agencies had already learned long ago from blather-mouth Landis. If Tygart did not take Lance down, the European anti-doping agencies would have. All Tygart did was to save his own and the USADA butt's because they would have lost all credibility with the American and international public.

That's ridiculous. You were probably, what, 5 years old at the time, but Lance sued the USADA and Tygart personally in federal court in 2012 based on all kinds of silly claims (of course) but because he was being relentlessly pursued by USADA. Sorry that this doesn't fit your fictional narrative. Lance confessed later in the year because the jig was up. Go look it up.

First, it’s just “USADA” not “the USADA.” Look at their website, not once do they refer to themselves as “the USADA” in any publication.

Second, AIU is NOT a doping agency in the traditional sense. They don’t conduct their own tests. They don’t have their own doping control officers (DCOs). Instead, organizations like USADA, Canadian Center for Ethics in Sport (CCES), Clearidium, Professional Worldwide Controls (PWC) and IDTM go out and collect samples from athletes both In-Competition and Out-of-Competition. The samples are sent to WADA approved laboratories (the Untied Sates has two, one in Salt Lake City and the other at UCLA). The results are then reported back to the proper authority, in this case AIU, who is the results management authority.

Interesting to see Tygart taking shots at AIU. He tends to stick to giving it to WADA every chance he gets. But hey, let me grab my popcorn…

The Oregonian needs to give the direct quote and the context, plus any follow-ups. The reason for this is, is that anyone who has ever listened to any interview with Tygart knows that he HATES the AIU because USADA does not hold a dominant position in the organisation. See episode 58 of the Clean Sport Collective podcast. Him saying that he is more skeptical of the AIU than he is of Houlihan is not even close to an endorsement of her innocence. It is an expression of his dissatisfaction with the AIU more than anything else.

And once again, I would remind everyone that Tygart is not some noble crusader pursuing justice, he's a careerist technocrat whose organisation has let doped runners continue to compete, and while he was at US swimming, he helped to cover up sex scandals. The Lance Armstrong conviction doesn't give him a free pass.
