How does this guy recover quickly enough to go sub-2:30 only two weeks after a 2:35 in the most painful way possible?
He finished 2nd in his age group at both.
This is actually quite possible. Two week is plenty of time to recover. People look at huge positive splits and think that guy is done. But actually when you crash in a race, you get to preserve your speed instead of spending it, which makes recovery easier. Crashing is a way of your body protecting itself, preventing too much damage from being done.
