Instead US T&F is doubling down by pushing more parapalegic events and other boring, non-relatable, non-entertaining races on us. Am I the only one that just rolled my eyes and fast forwarded when the para events came on yesterday?

US T&F has become the ultimate social equity sport and it's been an abject failure. Really, people will just turn off the tube rather than watch this boring crap being foisted upon us.

I don't often do this but here: Think of NYC and its bedroom communities that have a population catchment area of 25 million people. Think of its location as a gateway to the global; think of its tourist infrastructure; think of its accommodation infrastructure; think of the ease to get to the area; think of being able to combine events with other tourist activities that fans of the sport and others accompanying them would visit and take part in and the list goes on and on...

No I have never visited Eugene and have no desire to do so. I have attended Worlds every year since 2007 and this year sadly, will be the first I will miss.

The production of meets is horrible- watching a meet on TV and 30 minutes in we've seen 2 heats of the 100 and 2 heats of the hurdles.

Granted most sports don't have much action- football and baseball have more down time than people actually moving- but at least they APPEAR to be getting something done.

Move the meets along, keep the action coming. And get some announcers who know what they're doing.

You are 100% correct. Honestly, there’s nothing inherently more exciting about one sport over another. Have you watched a F1 race? It’s a snooze fest, little passing, nearly predetermined outcomes, you can’t see the athletes! Yet it’s a global spectacle now. The Miami Grand Prix sold out how many tickets in 30 minutes? I think those in control of T&F should watch Winning Time, the show about Magic and the Lakers on HBO. See how to build a brand, generate excitement, give fans a show that goes beyond the competition itself. It’s doable for T&F.
