Such a large variety of top female racers leaving words of encouragement lead me to believe that they don’t think she’s been busted. Just cause she isn’t talking about it doesn’t mean she hasn’t been injured recently. She’s been in little to no box social media since they went to park city. She ran a subpar 1500 at my sac. She also has an injury history some of it related to under fueling. Maybe she thinks a hard 10k might put her 5k and whole summer season in jeopardy. She might be the fastest American in both the 5 and the 10 but she’s unlikely to medal in either. Just relax on the doping speculation until she’s either seen in a boot or at the start line of the 5k or an announcement comes out.
No chance on Kelati at this juncture. She'd need a major jump forward in form. Not sure where Sisson is getting 35 seconds from either. 2 is a lot different than 5-6.
Well Sisson ran 31:03 solo on a hot day at the trials so it could happen.
Keilati ran 4.748 miles at sub 30:00 pace. Maybe I'm overrating that performance. Women can make a big jump in their first 2-3 years after college.
If she was injured, i would be ok with the decision (even if it’s a minor injury). But you can’t skip a national championship, just because you aren’t feeling like yourself. You’re the best 10k runner in USA and, You should suck it up and represent your country at worlds, b/c it’s your duty.
As much as I agree it's a weird explanation with everything going on at Bowerman, perhaps there are some personal extenuating circumstances that she doesn't feel comfortable going public about.

You don’t think a top professional athlete, if not the top athlete in the event, scratching the day before the national championship by posting on socials that you are “not feeling yourself” is bush league? Can you name any major professional sport, individual or team, where this would happen and everybody would be good with it? Look at all the incoming directed this year at Osaka or Biles and they provided an explanation. Cranny has every right to scratch, but as a top pro she should show up and answer questions. Maybe she will, I’ll wait and give her the benefit of the doubt that more details will be released or questions answered.
Its interesting that we so soon would see the cost of being a member of a team with a person convicted for a doping violation, without the team distancing itself from the convicted athlete.. People have every right to be suspicious about this, and sadly she is not extended the benefit of the doubt.
"Not feeling it" can be everything from something deeply personal to something sinister. At least it is very weird. The press should dig some more, ask the coaches and her teammates to get some indication to what it can be. (Yes it is relevant for the public).

Fake team sports (individual sports where you add up points for your team): Simone Biles comes to mind, but gymnastics is more dangerous where if you spin a tiny bit different you get f'd up

Yes, this is the name of the game, and everyone who don't want to participate are free to quit. The same people who her sponsors want to profit on can be teh same people who want an explanation. This can be solved better by having a better PR team in her group - giving out more but still preserving the private details. If it is a mental problem she could say that she goes through a tough period in her private life and she needs to step away from the pressure of competition for some time, etc.

Well, her boyfriend Sean McGorty is running the 10k tomorrow, so there is a good chance that Elise Cranny will be at the meet to support him.

I remember a thread a while ago asking why Elise Cranny wasn’t in any of the pictures of Bowerman at park city like 2 weeks after they got there and then she arrived. There were a couple videos of Karissa Courtney and her working out and then she disappeared.
I think her “doesn’t feel like herself” just means she’s burnt out. If she wins USAs in the 5 in a month, we will know that it was the right choice.
