"No retail establishment offering goods and services for sale shall discriminate against a cash buyer by requiring the use of credit by a buyer in order to purchase such goods and services," the law reads. "All such retail establishments must accept legal tender when offered as payment by the buyer."
Our sleazy AG and Governor in waiting said this.
On Tuesday Healey said that her office has had talks with the team about the new policy, and that it is in accordance with the law, noting that there was no need for a formal investigation. “The law says that people need to be able to go in and make purchases using legal tender. Traditionally that was known as cash, but as long as there are systems that are in place that allow for the use of cash, essentially through these cards that’s gonna, we think, work out.

1. Can you get these cash cards without divulging personal data?
2. If 1. is yes, don't you think that this part of the system will disappear soon enuff?
1: you can use cash with the vendors.
2: you can use cash in the stadium: you buy a card with your cash and you use it to pay for items. You don't divulge any more ID than you do on the T when you buy a Charlie Card. You don't need to enter the stadium with anything but cash. The system just prevents the staff from having to handle your Covid-infested dollars.
What happens to the 'spare change' on the card? Where can I convert it back to cash? Let's say I only go to one or two games a year?
I was at an establishment that also did not accept cash and was very annoyed. What if I didn't have plastic with me? I thought it was a nationwide law that cash must be accepted.
There’s absolutely no law cash has to be acceptable. That would be insane government overreach. If I want to set up a business that will only accept payment in live farm animals I can do that.
Well then you should challenge the MA law since there is just such a law. I think there are a lot of states with such laws.

3. You're an idiot.
1. No you cannot.
2. How effin convenient. So much easier than using cash. So convenient for the customers and the people walking around selling hot dogs and drinks to not be allowed to use cash.
Let me ask you guys. Why? Why is this being done? Who benefits and how? Certainly not the customer or the vendors whose lives are now a little more complicated.
And how is it NOT against the law that clearly states cash must be accepted?
And who really believes that the next step will be to require personal data to obtain the cash card?
Why are you people so willing to be trampled by the bosses?

I was there 2 weeks ago and bough a hot dog and a hot chocolate from separate vendors with cash. Maybe try learning from people who know what they're talking about instead of just shooting your mouth off.
You really are an intolerable moron. you're worse than Steve. At least he's insane. You're just an a-hole.
Taking away the ability to use cash is getting out from under government tyranny?
The government cannot place restrictions on private transactions. If I don’t the trust the US dollar I should not be forced to accept it.
In Carmine/Unkle's world, soemoner posting a swap ad looknig to trade an Apple Watch for a PS5 would be forced to accept the cash value of the PS5 instead, and would be breaking the law if they rfefused.
