Is this even close to being true? I think they'd all be top-10, but this claim is a ridiculous exaggeration. The poster meant one of two things:
These times would have been 1-4 in the open mile and the actual winner of that race was slower than their slowest leg.
Or,
Their average was faster than the mile winner even though one or more of their times would have been behind the winner.
Both false.
