Presumably he means medals at World Championships, European Championships, and Commonwealth Games. That's 3 medal opportunities right there.
That’s what he means.
If Kerr does well in those three few will care he skipped World Indoors.
world athletics does need to put some rules in place to encourage certain competitions. For example they could easily have a rule that any mark doesn’t count if it’s run the same week as your national championship and not at the national championship. (Kerr ran at BU last weekend instead of British nationals)
That's a great idea. If you qualify for Worlds and don't go- no marks count.
During nationals- no marks count.
I get not over racing but I remember when winning the World Cross in an Olympic year almost always led to an Olympic medal.

Now, they're afraid to race.
Apples versus oranges. You are comparing XC to indoor track. I was much better at T&F than XC but I can say XC is fun. Athletes, 200m on up risk left leg syndrome injuries due to training on 200m tracks and racing on 200m tracks. Interesting how you correlated World XC with Olympic medal. You don't want to play that game with Indoor Worlds T&F and Olympic medals do you?
