And the numbers have started to drop throughout the country. We've survived the Omicron wave. Therefore there's no more serious risk of hospitals being overwhelmed because of Omicron. Therefore there's a change in the risk assessment.
Even though there are nearly a million deaths in total and nearly two thousand in a day threads like this show that the real public crisis in the US today is one of endemic stupidity.
It appears we are in the "open things back up, ease restrictions" phase of the cycle now, even in the most stringent areas. The public needs a break, a glimmer of hope, and the institution realizes this. Even some of the most compliant individuals get fed up after a while of this charade going through its cycles. Props to the trucker convoys for forcing the hand of the institution and further exposing what a politically motivated power/money grab this truly is. And screw big pharma.
But I can guarantee this charade will be back in full force because there will be a US election coming. There will be restrictions, propoganda and most notably mail in votes enabled due to media fear mongering and reincarnated restrictions come election time.

It's literally this simple. I don't understand why people pretend this is some sort of conspiracy.
Lots of vaxxed people + lots of infections + lots of dead antivaxxers + milder variant + excellent trends in hospitalizations = much lower risk and revised risk metrics.
Is the argument that it's silly that they step-functioned the risk metrics in a single day? That they did it too late? Even a few weeks ago hospitalizations were well above most other waves.

Syndemic describes the "twindemic" of the winter of 2020-2021 (flu and covid) that the experts were scaring us with in order to get us to get flu shots plus the jab.
The flu miraculously disappeared that winter.
Catching the experts pushing the twindemic idea completely off guard I guess.
They quickly recovered and explained away the absence of the flu as being due to the Covid measures being taken (masks, lockdowns, social distancing). Seems they has no idea these measures would impact the flu early in the winter when they were crying twindemic.
