Nice race!
Nice race!

5k race in 18:11 this morning. Considering my training and my weight, I’m happy with this rustbuster. Ran it watchless, so no idea about splits. Felt good to hurt like this for the first time in about 3 years.
Now I just need to work on extending this pace over the HM distance over the next 8 to 10 months, so that I can go into the 2023 Boston cycle with a realistic shot at a PR.
Onward and upward.
Nice! I know exactly what you mean - it's so nice when your body lets you take it close to its limits
Stone: Very nice! It's definitely coming together for you. Impressive, running by feel. I have also noticed you've been successfully whittling away the extra weight. That will continue to pay off, too. Wish I could say the same. It's never been this difficult. Cut the beer, reduced the portions, fewer desserts, and zero progress. 181 this morning. Need to be under 170. Again, congrats!
Coach Stone - Very impressed with your result. Great to see you back in it! I raise my glass to you as I write this, and will think of your effort during my run tomorrow.
Allen - How are you doing on this fine evening? Your menu?

A couple client meetings, job estimate and on-site work took precedent over my planned run. But l'll get out tomorrow.
Turns out one of the new clients is a marathoner; always fun to share old "war stories." I'll be tackling some major structural repairs on his 1822 Federal-style home.
For exercise, I did restock our east parlor with firewood for the coming week. Pleasant fire in the woodstove now.
Planned dinner: Cajun pork chops, smashed potatoes, steamed broccoli. Local craft beer (I shouldn't!) or maybe a dry white. Still an hour away, at least :(
You?
I had two of my wife’s homemade cheeseburgers. Watched the tail end of USATF indoors. The M 3000 was very exciting. Would enjoy hanging out with you in the east parlor…love the warmth and feel of a fireplace or woodstove. I gather that tomorrow is “decide day” for me, and tomorrow morning’s run will have some impact on that…looking to go medium-long and finish with some strength…

Hope it goes well, and the marathon plans are settled. Would be good to see you back at it. An autumn marathon, too?
An appetizer was added to the menu: bacon-wrapped dates, stuffed with goat cheese. OMG, like candy!
I've decided against the April HM on my schedule. Too pricey. Instead, a cheaper, smaller, faster HM, three weeks before my marathon. Still quite competitive. Recent top three, M60-64: 1:38:28 (7:31), 1:38:31 (7:31), 1:41:12 (7:43).
I might regret postponing today's run. Tomorrow's forecast is 19 degrees warmer, but doesn't look very nice:
8 AM 28°
RealFeel® 10°
RealFeel Shade™ 8°
Wind W 21 mph
Wind Gusts 33 mph
Yes, my friend, and autumn marathon, too. Got a comp for Harrisburg. It would be great to be back at it...great. We will see tomorrow where I am…
