Wigins forgets to mention that the reason some Suomi is spoken in Karelia is that it was invaded and annexed by the USSR (and in actuality most of the population were deported, so Russian is almost exclusively spoken there now). Are Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania also Russian since they too at various times were invaded and annexed by the Russian Empire and later USSR, and continually had to fight to regain their independence? How about Poland? Multiple actual Finns on this thread have told you that Finland is its own country with our own language, culture and national identity. It's insulting to us for you to continually say Finland is just part of Russia when many of our grandparents fought wars to prevent this. But of course, you always think you know more than everyone else.

Sure it "wants" to join NATO, the same way Ukraine "wants" to, even though Ukrainians are essentially Russians and many of them don't want to. The politics don't change the cultural facts. Go research where the Finnic language groups are and see if that helps your anger issues.
