I started a separate thread on Manangoi looking like he's back to his racing weight. He seems to be in cracking form and the (enforced) break might've done him good. If you asked me to pick between Tim and Elijah in a championship race, my bet would be Elijah all the way.

Also, there are at least six new up and coming Kenyans that could beat either Tim or Elijah at the trials. Frankly, I don't expect both to finish in the top 3. Tim, at least, will have a wild card, but Elijah will have to be in his 2017 form to stand a chance of making the team.

For what it's worth, I understand Elijah strongly believes he has a 3:26 in him. Time will tell.

Therefore he's still saucing. But Kiprop also stated on his Twitter that he has nothing to lose. So that means he will probably sauce again too. Some things never change. I'd actually be impressed either way if Kiprop made a return to significance.
