Non-Binary Time Qualification Standards - Is this the future of Boston?

My daughter is smart, doesn't get in trouble, is funny and has a lot of friends. She thinks she is a cat trapped in a human body. She uses a litter box in her room but she empties it herself. I can fight it, lose my child, and be a miserable parent, or I can be supportive and try and guide her to the best of her ability. If it's a fad, then it won't last forever. If it's not, then what's your alternative? Disown your child? For what?

Isn't nonbinary a person who identifies as both male and female? I am a biological male. What if I identify solely as female? Can I enter the female category?

OK, but I'm going by the rules stated over and over by the people upset in this thread, which are: Y chromosome => men's division, not a Y chromosome => women's division. So F2M runs in the women's division here, because according to the logic of this thread, transgender people have mental disorders and are only what they are born by. So you are OK with a transgender male running in the women's division because that person was born a woman? This is what I am confused about.

I don't think you get to say that transgender females are barred from women's competition because they are actually males, but as a rule transgender males can be considered males.

Besides, if you think the non-binary division is a bunch of baloney, who cares what happens there? The best female athletes will win in the women's division and the best male athletes will win in the men's division. Whatever happens in the non-binary division will happen, and don't watch it if you think it's stupid. I don't care what happens in the WNBA or in men's beach volleyball so I don't watch those.

Yes. If you are a woman, you compete in the women's category.

Sure you can. One has a physiological advantage over their new category, the other doesn't. treating the two transitions as equal is the mistake here.

If Shalane Flanagan declared she was non-binary and wanted to compete against the men, nobody would care.

I see nothing wrong here.

Everyone is a winner. So everyone should get their own division.

No the solution is either Female and Open or Low Androgen and Open.

While I don't disagree in principle (not offended if Shalane ran against males), you're not appreciating that a world where there are restrictions on transgender women but not transgender men is just not going to happen. Finding a way to do that without violating dozens of gender discrimination laws is impossible. It's fantasyland. You might as well advocate for the resurrection of Prefontaine himself, because that's just as likely to happen.

You have to propose a practical solution, otherwise you're as delusional as how you perceive non-binary people to be. I don't mean that offensively, but it's the truth. In no world do I want a biological male running in women's races. Totally with you. But you have to propose a solution that is viable,

Plus, I'd add that the biggest argument against allowing M2F athletes in the women's category is that someone else is being harmed. In the three division system, who is the victim? The best men win and the best women win. Who cares if another division exists that you don't care about? Barring that just feels like it's hating.

actually women are being harmed because there are now two divisions "men" can dominate, so twice as much prize money for the dudes.

The world has gone mad. It is not scientifically, physically, or biologically possible to change genders. Same as it is not possible to be “gender fluid” or “non-binary” except as a mental disorder. With the very rare exception of of someone born intersex, everyone is either male or female. Surgery, hormones, or how someone wants to “identify you” cannot change that fact.

I would love to see the Venn diagram of biological males who identify as females who can also run sub-3:30 marathons. I bet it's not many.

Then I'd like to see the Venn diagram of males who have enough gall to sign up as a non-binary just for the sake of getting into Boston... I bet it's even less (and the one's who do it might be the same keyboard warriors posting about this topic right now, just to prove their non-existent point).

Seriously? What is your alternative? You get your child mental help and therapy ASAP!

No divisions, end of story. We are all the same.

Wouldn't it have been interesting if during WWI, 2 or Vietnam all the men changed their sex to avoid the draft?
