I know a good amount of religious/private schools that run on Sundays as well. They are a little less strict but you are responsible to get the milage in. If you attend church, you just do it before or after.
For some Christians, going to church is important but so is resting and serving God on that day in a more dedicated way. Also, Isaiah 58:13-14: If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. Some believe Sundays are not for "doing thy pleasure" and that if they serve God and rest from other activities on that day that they will be blessed as these scriptures state.
Sunday long runs are mandatory. If you go to church, your coach will literally drag you out, nail running shoes to your feet, and force you to do a run so hard you won't get out of bed for 3 days.

This message board has given you many answers, but the fact that you couldn't figure this out on your own is an issue your eventual college coach will have a problem with.

When I was in college there were about 4 women who would go to church instead of practice. But they would meet together with the coach @ 6 in the morning to get started on their run.
please find me the NCAA rule that says you can miss practice for religious events

That's all Old Testament scripture. Jesus Christ came and fulfilled all that. Dies on the Cross for the sins of the world. Now we have the New Testament which replaces all of that. You are not required to keep the sabbath holy anymore. There are a lot of other commandments in the Old Testament besides the 10 Commandments. Are you doing all of those too? You know, ritual sacrifices etc.

Yeah, at my school our Sunday morning long run was always early enough that you could go to church after if you wanted.
