Have you ever tried collapsing a cheap tent? A lot harder than an “elite” tent.
No runners are alpha. That is why they run.
I have. The difficulty of collapsing a cheap and "elite" tent is about the same. Usually the difference is mainly that the cheap tent is heavier. You should try camping some time. It would help with you analogies.
I thought it was more like he folded like a cheap suit
Kipchoge does this on every marathon right before he takes off. You can see it in nearly every race. Just politely offering for another to lead if they like. Rupp smiled and was essentially think I wish!

Wrong. We all run a 5K or whatever and add up our times. Galen then runs the same distance and if his finishing time is faster than our combined time then he is Faster Than All of Us Combined.
It's a pretty simple equation, really.
Didn't Galen do the same thing to Meb at the 2016 trials? Drafted bizarrely close to Meb to the point was just obnoxious?
I'd be more impressed if LR sold the shirt for $15.94 (0). 1:59:40.

There's no reason to limit the distance to 5k though. We would have a much better shot of winning if everybody runs the maximum distance we could faster than Galen's marathon pace.

Like someone said just stop the hate towards rupp. I used to hate the guy but on these olympics i wished we had him fighting for a medal at the 5k or 10k or the marathon.
We did have him fighting for a medal at the marathon. He lost the fight.

Typical letsrun. Who wants a race when you can do a time trial.

That's what it looked like to me. It looked like a friendly warning and invite, as if to say, "Hey, I'm about to take off, as all y'all m----- -----ers are way to slow right now. Let's go contenders and leave these pretenders."
Those in the pack rightly turned him down since going with him would have ensured they DNF'd in a heap on a Japanese road, sucking their thumb beggin' for momma. And water.

Sorry, but he did no such thing. Eliud was taking off soon regardless. This happens all the time in running.
Of course he pissed off Eliud. Galen is not an alpha male. Eliud is superior to Galen and Galen folded like a cheap tent. Why must you take my name? So much jealousy from you.
Where can I get these cheap tents that fold easily? I usually have a hard time folding a tent! I can take it out of the bag, but have trouble putting that tent back into the bag. They seem to always make it so small!

Reminded me of the exchange between Meb and Rupp at the Trials in 2016. Even the gesture was the same from Meb and Kipchoge, pointing to the road. Either take the lead or get off my back. And they're both seen as even-keeled guys.
Still, I was rooting for Rupp to medal cause he was working so hard. Maybe more for Osako and that Netherlands guy though. Rupp looked so drenched at the end, with all the work going into soaked hats and iced bags and Kipchoge didn't even look wet.
Did Kipchoge even sweat? Seems like he could of ran another 10k after he finished. Doesn't look tired at all.
I was pretty disappointed I was hoping someone would mount a challenge and make it exciting. Osako ran tough but perhaps he should have stuck with the leaders and seen what was possible. Ethiopia blew it bigtime. I doubt we see another really exciting Olympic marathon like 2008 for decades. I wanted to rewatch that race but it seems completely scrubbed from YouTube unfortunately.

More likely to DNF at 20k.

Seems most likely. He probably made it clear that they better take turns at that pace or he’ll run by himself.
