You have no trust in Jakob! He beat the gold and silver medallist easily in the DL Florens 5000m (in a watered down field according to you) and Jakob has never lost to the bronze medallist.
The only reason Jakob shouldn´t win is the hot humid weather.
Championships 5,000m racing in sweltering conditions is a different ballgame than DL time-trialing in perfect conditions in Europe. Kiplimo, Cheptegei and Kimeli made this a fast and rhythm-free race. Katir tried to run it like he had in Florence and he got buried. Justyn Knight and Grant Fisher couldn't handle it. In 1st you had the World Record holder, cross country champion and a man of extraordinary strength. In 2nd, a completely scrappy Ahmed who overcame getting basically manhandled by Jakob and others for bronze in Doha. Chelimo and Kimeli fought for every inch behind them. Chelimo was just a step behind Farah and a similar-ish race in 2016, this sort of race is his wheelhouse. Kimeli has immense strength holding on to run a 12:51 going out with Cheptegei in his 5,000 World record, and finishing a 10K after pacing Cheptegei through 5,000 in 13:06. Also ran 13:02 solo at altitude.
It is disrespectful to say Jakob would've won or beaten any of those four when we have no idea how he'd fare in conditions that are far different than anything he's faced in a top-level 5,000.
