totally understand where she is coming from and cant imagine the pressure she mustve been under. with that being said...sports psychologists are on every professional team and these athletes have access to the best healthcare available. i sympathize with the millions of americans (and billions around the world) that dont have access to mental health facilities or even healthcare at all.

This was not her first competition. She quit on her team because she choked.
Did any of you commenting on her ‘quitting’ even watch finals? She is literally with the team cheering them on and not a single one of them seemed bothered by her stepping back. In some ways this almost seems like she wanted the rest of the tram to have their moment. If any of you have even watched any of the press events or anything leading up to this it has been all about Biles. She have her team a chance for the spotlight to be on them and not her. You guys are just making all kinds of assertions without even actually knowing what you are talking about.

Reading this thread is pathetic. What do you people want? Did you see how she did on the vault, it was not good. Should she have powered through the other three events and performed poorly, costing the US the silver medal (maybe even a medal all together)? She did the best thing for the team, even if it doesn't please you people.

I just know that true toughness shows in the focus, intensity, and uprightness needed to type out an attack on a high profile athlete on a message board.

She shouldn't have accepted the medal, and she denied someone else an opportunity to be on the team. She should have bowed out before the Olympics started.
