Sure, that's why she switched her goal and tried to go into sales. Career change, millions of people do it.

Pam was a "cool girl" trope of a different type. Watching it now, I don't like how she was portrayed at all. In early seasons her voice never rose at all. She was always containing her emotions, never wanted to sound loud or shrill or anything that wasn't exactly how men wanted her to sound.

She left for New York to become an artist then quit artschool after the first term. Damn, what did Jim see in her?

Oh, how could we forget, she also tried to cockblock Michael from dating her mom. A real piece of work.

I wouldn't call it clever or witty or intelligent, but it was funny. Michael Scott was a great character. Robert California was a great character. Dwight Schrute was a great character.

Let's not get crazy. Seinfeld is the best sitcom ever. Friends is at a similar level to The Office...both great, but not Seinfeld level.

I don't blame her for that. Michael's idea of romance was a little twisted. Remember Carol and how he photoshopped himself into her family picture? Creeeeeepeeee!!

I put Cheers ahead of The Office and Seinfeld below it. Like a lot of people, I couldn't stand the characters in Seinfeld and thus had no interest in whatever comedy might arise between them. In fact, Curb Your Enthusiasm is probably slightly better than Seinfeld.

It was a great show when it was mainly a parody about office life, when it became all about office romances it went downhill.

Michael leaving didn't help, he was great for that role.

The worst Character is OBVIOUSLY PHYLLIS

British shows know when to finish on top. US series run way too long.

Also, Jim and Pam were pretty average looking to me.

True.

I would have watched british office burn into the ground if they kept their main characters. Their image would suffer. Maybe not their money.

Any show with a laugh track is unwatchable.

Pam cares too much what others think which makes it difficult for her to get what she wants (or even decide what she wants). And then when she goes after what she wants she moves to the socially unaware category. She can be a little bit whiny too. The whole dynamic of being insecure about what she wants (Jim/Roy triangle, Jim's career goals vs hers)

The writers described the 4 main characters as filling out a square of social aware vs. unaware and cares about the opinions of others vs. doesn't. And the characters are taken to an extreme to drive the comedy.
