Alan is probably a little too pessimistic. But you're definitely too optimistic.
Comparing NCAA rounds to Olympic rounds is like comparing a flat marathon to Western States.
We have some guys who have acquitted themselves very well in the NCAAs and the Trials. They're not scrubs. The two younger guys are destined for great things down the road.
That's partly because they've gone the NCAA route and learned how to deal with that type of meet and races. Not to mention, given themselves the time and opportunity to mature and develop. But that's another discussion.
But to think that because someone has successfully navigated the NCAAs and/or the US Trials that they're ready to make the Olympic final is just taking way too big a leap.
