Haas group and The Cragg group are both cheating athletes.
They are agents that do not shop their athletes because they want them for their own groups. Kelati and Werner have no idea of their worth. They only know what they’ve been told by Men with motives not in the best interest of the athlete.
A Cragg is an agent?
yes
I feel bad for Stephen. He's had alcohol and drug problems in the past and it may be that some of that has resurfaced or perhaps something else entirely. Hope everything works out for him.
he's had YT videos showing his training full day routine and was open about taking a "mental health pill" As a runner not sure this can agree. Anti depressants have an effect of denaturing neurotransmitters and placing priority on dopamine. So that edge you need is often dull. Adam Goucher was adamant about being off meds because he couldn't race well and wasn't worth the sides.
The psychosis of a lot of meds takes away your intrinsic endorphins. I'm sure and hope he's checked this med interference.
Unless you are an MD, DON’T give medical advice of which you are unqualified to prescribe.
Based on interviews with the runners, it sounded like UA gave them all a temporary out until UA can develop a super shoe for competition. Was this just PR tilt? Are they gone for good? Why did UA fund a whole team if it did not have a decent shoe for runners?

UA is having a ton of problems company-wide. I wouldn’t be surprised if budgets got cut so they couldn’t develop a super shoe. Letting athletes walk is just helping UA trim back their budget at this point.
It’s a shame because they seemed to want to go in on running in a serious way, but they spent a ton on some weird projects (buying MapMyRun, putting computer chips into shoes, etc).
This is what happens with companies that do not do well at retail.
Puma
UA
Reebok
All of these companies will fire everyone within the running portion of the business and start over. It has happened with Reebok 4 times over the last 15 years.
Product must sell at running specialty or they are doomed.

UA has been desperately trying to get out of major College Football contracts (UCLA, Berkley, Cincinnati), Premier league teams, and NFL gear.
https://www.bizjournals.com/baltimore/news/2021/02/25/under-armour-cuts-sponsorship-commitments-in-half.htmlI don't think pro running is a higher priority than those and would get cut pretty easily.
To be hoenst with UAs woes, I am very very very surprised dark sky was even a thing now.
Welp, a bunch of new UA gear just dropped at RW, so they're keeping that account open. UA shoes (all of two models) have been on clearance at RW so maybe new shoes are to follow.

I am not giving advice. I am stating the objectives that all the fine print lists. There are both good and bad reactions to being on meds. Having a forthright doctor who can recognize the individual and their reaction is key.
Tbh I have never heard of this group 😬

Haas is one of the nicest guys in the sport.
Out of the goodness of his heart, he coaches this group of absolute dreamers. Without Haas, they’re out of the sport.
Groups like Zap Fitness, District track club, Dark Sky, Mahon’s San Diego group, Firman Elite, Mammoth, Empire State, and the like operate on shoestring budgets compared to Coogan’s NB, Boss, Bowerman, NOP, OTC and new On group. Honestly, just as good coaching, but 2% of the resources.
Wait, you think Boss has a "budget" and "resources"? Who's paying?? Are free stays at Emma's daddy's Crested Butte mansion a line item? lols
Hah! There's serious cash lurking there in the shadows. Follow the threads young Pepe Silvia.
Do the research on Big Cranberry. There's always money in the cranberry stand...
Indeed, Scullion is a very strong marathon runner, his 2.09 is probably a 2.07 on a good day and he was on track for 2.08 low on the bad day but fell away the last 4 miles.
He definitely mentioned that his UA contract was stopped or maybe paused, and it could certainly be shoe related. Would they make him run in UA shoes in the Olympics? He avoided it in other races, but maybe he was not allowed in this event ? He has spoken about shoes and Im pretty certain he would not run in tokyo if he could not get the best result he get get. Maybe he is calling the UA bluff and saying let me run or otherwise i wont run at all........?
Interesting.......
This post was removed.
His uncle tried to commit suicide and it seems to have opened up a whole bunch of family issues at a really unfortunate time for him. Seems that he suffered abuse growing up especially relating to his running, like if he didn’t win his races he’d get a kicking, get ‘kicked up and down the stairs’ etc.
Anyway, all this turned into a drinking session, shots, cocktails, and 3am raging about punching garage doors and withdrawing from the Olympics. Fortunately it seems when he sobered up he saw sense, the training has been great on the whole, and he’s back in the game.
I think he’s gonna do great and I think finally being able to talk about his abuse could be a weight off his shoulders in enjoying just being a part of the Olympics and doing his best.

Scullion most likely secure adidas support in Ireland with his 209. Or, go it solo. why risk Oly Games performance, especially if your sponsorship is on hold, using a pair of racing flats which are far and away less competitive with what the competition is wearing. I'm sure he has funding from Ireland Athletics. Go free agent, perform well and see what other options are there. He can certainly do better than UA
