I've had experiences in my life that I like to call "near death experiences."

In 1992, I was driving from Minneapolis back to Ames, Iowa, after a 49ers vs Vikings game in Minneapolis. My car hit a patch of black ice near the Iowa-Minnesota border, went off Interstate 35 and down a snowy embankment. I got out of the car and went back up to the highway. Another car hit the black ice and skidded to a stop about 6 inches from me. Why did the car stop so close to me?

Was I just "lucky," or was there something else going on?

In 2005, I was going to cross the road to my gym in Bangkok, but I didn't look both ways. Suddenly, "something" pushed me down forcefully and I fell on my back, on to the sidewalk, and a bus went flying past on the road. If I would have stepped into the road, I would have been hit and likely killed by the bus. Was it my quick reaction from my peripheral vision that saved me, or was it some kind of supernatural force? I do not know.

I've traveled around the world and I've met all sorts of people with all kinds of different belief systems and non-belief systems.

Base on my experiences and travels, I conclude that yes, there *could be* forces that work beyond the realms of time, space, mass, form, and physics, but we are not yet able to truly prove the existence of them.

Because the friction from the ice (which is not frictionless) and ice-bare portions of the road (if there were any), created a "drag force" on the car's tires which acted in opposition to the motion and momentum of the car, such that the car's forward motion toward you went to zero velocity at some point. It's a little more complicated than that (air resistance, shape of the car, incline and gravity, timing of application of brakes, weight of the car, etc.), but that's the gist of it. In your case, those universal and undisputed laws of physics caused the car to cease motion 6 inches from where you stood. At least that's what a scientist or an expert in physics would tell you. An expert in supernatural forces may tell you something else stopped the car's forward motion.

"What happens after DEATH?"

Our bodies decay (one way or another) and our constituent atoms rejoin the greater universe. There's no reason to think anything else happens when we die.

[NOTE: I said "REASON to THINK"--there may be multiple MOTIVES to WISH something else/something more happens, but there's no REASON to THINK so.]

My body's decay may be slower than that of some, because I'm donating my remains to science and it'll probably end up on a dissection slab in some anatomy lab. But it's still gonna end up "dispersed" sooner or later.

And I'll neither know nor care. 'Cause I'll be dead.

God's word states we live forever. First we are here for a very short time and how each of us responds to the good news that God loves us and will save us from the long-term consequences of our sin nature, our eternal destiny is determined. Once we have been created, we are on a very long timeline. Use your time here wisely.

Interest concept. How do you explain population growth? There are many more souls than people and the number of souls choosing to participate has just increased over time???

The standard unit of length in Biblical times was the cubit, which corresponds to about an arm-length. And there's the rub: the cubit was by no means standardized and its usage yielded no mathematical precision from which to deduct a ratio that is the same every time. Most commentaries will state that the cubit was approximately 17.5 inches, but that's not entirely accurate. The cubit denotes any length that is roughly the same as an arm length. 17 inches is a cubit, and 18 inches is a cubit as well. The same goes for the other unit of length, used to indicate larger distances: the day's journey, which corresponds to the distance that a healthy pedestrian might cover if he keeps at it and doesn't take too many breaks.

The circumference of the vessel described in 1 Kings 7:23 was precisely 30 cubits, which comes down to about thirty arm-lengths of a medium seized gentleman. The diameter of the vessel was precisely 10 cubits, which comes down to ten arm-lengths of the same or some other gentleman. The ratio between the two was exactly 3, which comes down to nothing but a hardy handshake between two gentlemen.

In his lovely little book The Joy Of Pi, David Blatner inserts an anonymous statement (page fifty-four):

What is pi?

Mathematician: Pi is the number expressing the relationship between the circumference of a circle and its diameter.

Physicist: Pi is 3.1415927 plus or minus 0.000000005.

Engineer: Pi is about 3.

Point well taken. 1 Kings 7:23 says nothing about the theoretical value of pi. It just states that a line of thirty cubits went around a ten cubit vessel.

Actually Engineers use 3.1416

It was the same back in Solomon's day too.

Ana, God created everything in existence, including you. Yet somehow, you seem to think God can't raise the dead? As I suggested, use the short amount of time you have here seeking out meaning to life and not hardening your heart towards the one who created you and loves you and does not want you to spend eternity in conscious torment. You are not merely molecules in motion, dancing to your DNA, or eventually worm food. Maybe Richard Dawkins has convinced you that intelligent creation did not happen, and at the same time tell you nothing suddenly became something. I don't have enough faith to be an atheist like you.

I think God and the Devil are the same cat, could be a chick though? Kinda moody n mysterious, hard to get to know.

The worst scam in the world is believing that the Bible isn't true. John 3:16 says it all

Only 1 person conquered death and that was Jesus Christ. Go to a local Bible believing church for Maundy Thursday, or Good Friday and Easter services next month. Jesus, on the cross arms wide open, wanting all to believe and have eternal life in Heaven. I am in my 60's with terminal cancer, but Jesus died for all my sins and will take me to Heaven someday. It's what He did for me a sinner... nothing I could do on my own.

Each human has an immortal soul that is attached to their physical body. Upon death the soul is detached from the physical body and one now dwells in the plane of spirits. If you doubt the existence of an immortal soul you can view the Astral Projection subreddit and see all of the unique accounts of traveling to this realm with just the soul body while still attached to the physical body. This ought to make you consider that there is an eternal deity and that he embodied himself as the man Jesus Christ whose teachings are best found in the biblical gospel of John.

Oh please. Jesus was a political agitator who offended both Roman and Jewish authorities. The history of Jerusalem in those times was extremely troubled and violent. Do some proper research.
