I think there's not as much of a gap between McDonald and Fisher as people think. I believe Fisher has only run under 13:20 once, while McDonald has 3 or 4 times. Currently McDonald's best is 13:15 from 2017, but when you look through his results he hasn't had any races comparable to the TT where Fisher went 13:11. I think if these two raced, it would be incredibly close, but they would both beat Drew Hunter by a fair bit.

I heard that Grant Fisher checks under his bed each night for Morgan McDonald.
I can quite confidently say that I don’t think Fisher is getting beaten by either of them any time soon
