except Letsrun?
Point taken though, I'll try to fill up my Instagram feed a bit more. I feel like I've been following a ton of pro runners for the last few months. I guess not the right ones.

It has been discussed here on LR for some time and there was an article written about the Ekiden/HM posted a couple weeks ago.
As far as the course - it’s a very well-known running course here in the suburban Detroit area. It’s located in one of the metro parks. There is a dedicated wide walking path that the racers used. The path circles a lake and it’s usually pretty windy. Today was no different. I ran it before the race started. Pretty stiff wind on the back half. Lots of rollers, no huge climbs/hills. There is a pretty gradual climb around mile 9 that seemed to separate the lead pack.
Did any hobbyjoggers get in the way?

Not that I saw. It’s a popular place for old folks to take a stroll so I imagine there were a few that either a) scrambled to the grass b) couldn’t hear the lead bike asking them to move or c) heard the request and ignored it because....old

where is the event website? I'd be interested to see what the course was like. Why can't I find out about these races until literally the week of the race?
Your beef is legit. As it got close to race time this morning, I was scrambling to find any info. I could. The Ekiden at least received a modicum of attention. Today's event, near zero. And that includes LetsRun.

Not true, you need to get on the grid as well. It was well covered and spoken about on various forms of media as I stated above. Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I can listen to Lee Troop talk all day. He is straight forward with no bs. Yes the video was a little hit or miss but that Samantha chick was really good. When I see or hear a young girl commentating they are usually giggly and lacking knowledge. Neither was the case here. Thanks Hanson’s. Thanks Lee and Samantha. We appreciated no paywall.

I didn't know about it until this AM either. I follow all the running websites on both twitter and facebook. And I frequent letsrun (as much as it pains me to say).
Awesome idea. Could have been marketed better.
I must follow the right people on Twitter. All of the Team Boulder, Atlanta Track Club, Roots, Hansons, NAZ, Zap, have been talking about it all month.
Let’s run did an article before and after the Ekiden last week and referenced today’s race. Cities did a story as well so did RW and Lope. .
Not sure what you are following

Yep, you have to basically go out of your way not to get this info. Geniuses of letsrun, it might help to check the twitter account of the race hosts for info if you can't find anything. It was in my face for over a month, sorry you live under a rock.

If the casual fan is expected to follow each semi-elite US running club or lope (had to google it), then our sport isn't going to grow.
On this page alone, you have three posters who wanted to watch or would have, but didn't have the information until it was too late.
In the future, they should try to reach this type of fan. That's all :-)

You post here almost every day. If you didn't know about this, it's 100% on you. Sorry.
I agree with macdaddy. Can't believe I am saying this. If I hadn't stumbled onto the article about it on Runners World or seen the posts about the race here... I wouldn't have known about it either. Super bad marketing.
As a casual fan, I was lucky that I found out about it just by chance. Next time they should expand their marketing. I sometimes read car magazines or finance articles, maybe if they can get news about the event into those types of sites it would help people like macdaddy and me stay up on running news.
