Long distance running is the only athletic sport where there is some sort of honor in being nice and humble. That's why it will never make millions like the NBA or NFL. There is no personality. Dodging competition is encouraged by agents, depending on contracts and such. Chep is on point for calling Farah out. Don't care if he's past his prime. You want the Oly title again, face the best then. We absolutely need more trash talk in track, especially in long distance running. Rojo, is right on this one.

On the track, yes. But this is the road and the last time Cheptegei raced on the road was February (?). Ever since he has raced the track. He is super fit as shown by his two world records on the track but transitioning from track to road takes at least a month. He is in for a shock here today. Kandie who is a half specialist will win and Cheptegei 5th.

It's TRUE, Jacob Kiplimo was better adjusted to the roads than Cheptegei and was going to finish higher. However his name sake, Kenyan Kiplimo Kandie gave this away. I had bet my entire estate on him winning! He allowed fear to reign in him! Had tried to push several times just after the 5K but retreated once Ethiopian Guye Adola went with him, staying on his heels. He should have kept his focus on the road ahead and Adola would have melted away! Anyway Kiplimo win and congratulations to him! The Kenyan Kiplimo goes home with some regrets. Hopefully next time he regains the Lion's Heart!
We should just be thankful that at least one of the guys at the top of the sport can speak English at the same level as a 12 year old.

This feels a little like which came first the chicken or the egg. Is it Mo's fault that he can get paid a boatload to break a rarely contested world record? There isn't a ton of cash in this sport. He has a brand and image to protect. I'm not writing this because I like Mo or as a true defense I just understand it & am not gonna fault him.
When was the last time the US sent their actual 3 best runners to a road racing championship or to world xc? Is Rupp also ducking competition? Americans care about the Olympics & about domestic races. Maybe it's on sponsors/USATF/fans living here to change that. Maybe it elevates domestic races having strong US pros filling up start lists.
Joshua literally shat the bed in Poland. Mo could of beaten his time time assuming Mo is in 59 flat shape. That would be a good revenge for the trash talk. Big missed opportunity for Mo today. I guess Mo will have no problem in Tokyo with Joshua on the decline now
