Cadence data from Suunto (and other brand) GPS watches is sometimes garbage. Not restricted to cadence data from Mimi.

The 2-mile diversion after lunch was because Highway 30 (Lincoln Hwy) is closed for construction for a few miles, so Pete Kostelnick's dad led us on some dirt roads around the construction...

Of course, that can sometimes happen in certain cases but Mimi's case is vastly different. She is using 4 different Suunto watches of two different model types on two separate arms and they are all giving the same garbage data. It is very difficult to blame this on the watches.

I've started plotting Mimi's cadence data in histograms because I think this is the easiest way to show why her cadence data is so garbage and doesn't match up at all with what we see her doing in videos and pictures.

First, here is a histogram of one of Sandra's runs showing she does the vast majority of her running in the cadence range of 165-175 spm, perfectly reasonable.

Now, here is a histogram of one Mimi's run from Oct. 12 (the day after her hospital visit) showing she is doing the vast majority of her running in the 185-195 spm range. Believable? Not at all. Mimi's pictures and videos clearly do not show her running anywhere in the 185-195 spm range at any time during this entire transcon. It's like her cadence data is being recorded by an entirely different runner.

And keep in mind that Oct. 12 morning run that histogram came from is over 7 hours in moving time according to Strava. So is it even believable that Mimi was doing 185-195 spm for the vast majority of that 7+ hour moving time of the run? Hell, no.

Can a Garmin have a shield blocker to stop the signal then remove the shield so it creates points to fill the gap? There are cellphone signal blockers for sale.
