Speaking of Evangelicals, one thing that I got wrong is their relentless desire to squash abortion. I always believed this was the glue that held them to a "flawed vessel" like Trump. Because of that, I thought Trump would implement a nationwide abortion ban. Like Project 2025 says. And like they all want.
But since Trump got into office, that is 100% a non issue. Nothing. Zippo. Not even the hard right lawmakers are talking about it. Do evangelicals not care about it anymore? I doubt that.
Here is my hot take on that. I believe that the right wing ecosystem will always dictate to the right wing voter what the hot issue is at all times and not visa versa. If they need to pull that nationwide abortion thing out again, then the evangelicals will get back to fighting for it. But until they are told to do so, they don't really care.
