Once again, demonstrating that the authors of the complaint did not know what "actual malice" means under the law.

Idiotic post with idiotic ideas (especially pretending Biden was involved). You appear to know absolutely nothing about civil litigation: what a claim is, what damages are, what a settlement is, what a summary judgment is, what a trial is, or what measuring risk is.

Settling for $780,000,00 (780 million) in lieu of a trial is hardly an indication of lack of an actual case. Everyone except you would consider such a massive settlement BEFORE trial to be massive win, and also a pretty clear indicator of what Fox News thought of their defenses AFTER they LOST their summary judgment motions. Normal people don't write checks for $780,000,000 if they haven't done major illegal sh!t.

The deliberate lies that Fox presented -- in contradiction of its own internal fact checking department's analysis and memos -- are too legion to go over. You'd have to read the entire summary judgment order (linked below), which I know from experience is something that a MAGA never does. Here it is anyway.

One example is FOX News. They knowingly lied on air repeatedly about the 2020 election. The disclosure for the lawsuit they settled for $780M showed the lying was internally known and intentional.

Why isn't Trump punishing them for intentional partisan lies if that is the problem? Yet he filed a lawsuit against NYT without naming any false information - the legally required bar.

Fox settled to avoid more disclosure of their lying to the public. They knew they were going to lose. Dominion got a quick settlement for half the amount of the suit and avoided millions in legal fees in a dragged out court battle. Fox got to stop more information release about their lying and probably saved money.

The Biden Admin had nothing to do with that lawsuit, nor did they directly prosecute Fox for it's lies, though it might have been able to win based on the info Dominion released. Nor did they threaten FCC action.

Oh, haven't we gone over this already? Reading and thinking are hard.

I think this is mostly accurate, though largely ignoring the drawbacks that tariffs can also have. For one, a tariff might reduce the nominal tax burden on citizens, but it just substitutes another--and the people bearing the brunt of the tariff-tax are often those who are less able to handle it.

The real problem is that the discussion of tariffs above does not describe what's happening with them in the USA right now. "Wisely"? "Strategically"? "[Only] critical sectors"?
"[T]ailored to specific industries and strategic goals rather than applied broadly"? Hardly.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and the proof of tariff policy is whether domestic production and (especially) employment increase more than they otherwise would have.

Here is one thing I never understood about Trump and Trumpers.

They are always crying and moaning about how all the media is negative about him. Let’s put aside whether the stories about Trump are accurate or not. Let’s focus on the unfairness that he keeps saying is the problem.

How in the hell does Trump expect everyone to write wonderful stories about him when he literally sh!ts on everyone all the time?

Think about it. No guy in history publicly sh!ts on more people every time he opens his mouth. And Trumpers regularly acknowledge that is what they love about him.
