Trump was trying to salvage the nomination by abusing the accuser. The FBI already had letter from Ford. They knew who she was. Republicans demanded its release. Trump started his game plan to attack the accuser. He is know doubling down with his attacks.

Just as some are trying to delay, the GOP is trying to rush a vote on a horrible candidate. Total sh*t show when it didn't need to be, but Trump decides to nominate a guy with a ton of baggage.
Duane and others are upset that there is stalling, but are also blaming Ford which is flat out wrong. Trump nominated a guy with baggage, evidenced at least by the thousands of documents the WH refused to release. As far as the Ford allegation, we don’t know so can’t say he’s done something there, but rarely are such accusations completely made up. This is for a SCOTUS seat, it needs to be looked at, period, doesn’t matter how long ago, who appointed and which party is in power.
The fact remains that Ford got tangled up in this political circus by choosing to speak out. We need the details and that process should not be partisan.

The GOP has now offered to move the hearing to Wednesday and have an independent lawyer question both separately. The GOP might have a hard time finding a female Republican lawyer with the right expertise. This move is clearly in the right direction but of course only done out of pressure and negative optics and not because they think it’s the right thing. This is hurting the GOP badly, even if they can confirm him as expected. At some point if this drags on for too long, it will make more political sense to find a new nominee otherwise the female vote will crush them.

That won't work. The problem is that congress is writing its own laws, and the laws are politicized.
The SCOTUS problem could be solved the following way. Bring the total up to a fifteen justices. Politically they would be split into five of one party, five of another party, and five who are independent. They all get to hear the arguments for matters to be brought before the court. From the pool of fifteen justices, nine justices would sit on a particular case. The make up would be three from each political group. The names would be picked out of a "hat" (at random). But if a justice had sat on more than cases than others from their group, then there name would not be picked. The result would be a balanced group of justices with the workload spread across a larger group of justices.

Eddie is a conservative, a lawyer, a pal of Kavanugh's, and he is advising Kavanaugh on getting through the SCOTUS confirmation process. Whew … most certainly unbiased. It comes as no surprise that Eddie thinks an apology will be enough to stop the defamation lawsuit coming his way. Agreed, the President needs to stay patient and stay out of it. No dumb tweets. Let the senate deal with it. Democrats are trying to do either two things 1. Delay this past the mid term because of their belief they will overtake the house and senate, 2. If that can’t happen persuade Collins, Flake, Murkowski, etc.(those always on the fence) to change their minds and decline.

No the Senate is highly partisan and controlled by old white men. Let the FBI deal with it.
Republicans are trying to do either of two things: 1. Ramrod this through before the mid-terms, before Dems clobber them--let the voters decide--, 2. If that cannot happen get Trump to keep submitting Kavanaugh clones--people he knows will be rejected--to the Democrats to get them rejected--that way Trump can use their defiance as a 2020 voting issue for Republicans.
