First it was Woodward saying he flat out didn't see any evidence of collusion, despite "looking hard for it for two years."

Then Page says during her testimony that at the time of the Special Counsel appointment, no evidence of collusion existed.

Schiff for Brains has gone from "I've seen more than enough evidence for collusion to be proven" (early 2017) to now skirting the question entirely.

Then, a couple nights ago, I watched an interview with Brennan where he says something like, "we need to be open to whether or not any collusion is proven.....but the investigation must be completed....."

So Brennan, who first said he saw no collusion (May 2017), then said there's no doubt there was collusion (spring 2018), now seems to be backpeddling to "I guess we'll see."

Look how frightened he is that his name is going to be showing up all over the "redacted" documents. Love it.

I think the party is being shortsighted. I think Trump could win in 2020 but he and many others are doing very little to build the party past that point by sounding off the way they are. Calling women dogs, being anti immigrant (calling Mexicans rapists), not believing sexual assault victims and the way you respond to something like this. You can only play on the fears of people for so long. It got Trump elected -- illegal immigrants are taking your jobs...but what happens when the white share of this country goes down. I would go full stop. Apologize to Dr. Ford. We're sorry. We hear you. This is a party for women. When something is obviously racist -- racism is terrible. But in our America we are working to provide opportunities for all.

I think I did pretty thoroughly. They would say they support women and POC because their party supports economic opportunity for everyone through a free market. I just think this message is completely lost when they react the way they do to Kavanaugh or Serena Williams. I think the best thing the Republicans could do now is to affirm women and POC on issues of race and gender while promoting a strong economic platform. How else will you bring new customers in? They should aspire to be Nike. Good enough on race + gender while being capitalist AF (because that's what's important to them). Trump tweeted out today that the S&P is the highest it's ever been (I didn't fact check that). If that's true, so many people are not going to even hear the economic messaging of that because they have seen that the Republican Party is not a place for women or non white folks.

Good post. GOP leaders have long known and watched demographics and public opinion shift toward to the democrat’s advantage. The general vote gap is evidence of this. They’ve had a couple of decades to deal with it pragmatically and progressively but they chose instead to ignore it and sell out to the lobbies (more so than the Dems). So they took desperate measures and started appealing to the lowest scum. When John McCain famously defended Obama during a townhall he didn’t realize he was killing his chances of winning, by having the done the right thing. Then comes Trump and sweeps the primaries easily. Tells you everything. It’s too late for the party to make a comeback - it will need to openly rebrand itself.
