Here is a short list of words you should look up the meanings of:
Literally
Evidence
Refute
I suspect that if I were to suffer through any more of your posts, this list would very quickly increase by several powers of two.
Normally I ignore these posts because its simple to nitpick verbiage and word use around here, but honestly? What? How did the meaning of any of those words make my statement untrue? Your interpretation of "meanings" is probably just different than mine.

The section entitled The Sabotage Test struck me as being super crazy. He cites Gatlin's massage sabotage story as inspiration to begin all kinds of experiments with testosterone creams. There have been jokes about this but literally he says that he was concerned that someone might jump out and rub Galen down with androgel post-race.
This is a legitimate concern considering the swarm of haters they have. I'd be worried about this too...
All told a very well crafted response. Systematic and compelling. This entire debacle had the potential to become a swearing contest with Alberto the cryptic evil mastermind on one hand and the USA's least credible, most media thirsty runners on the other. Alberto is clearly pushing his athletes into the grey area between doping and hard work, but the man is a maniac and it looks like he respects/respected the bright-line black letter rules throughout his coaching career. I think most of the LRC community assumed that NOP has been in the 'grey area' throughout his existence - and are surprised by neither the allegations nor the response. Alberto provided a hell of a lot of hard, court admissable evidence - and was more transparent and clear than anyone in the propublica doc. When you look at the people who have spoken out:
Kara - Attention thirsty/washed up
Adam - washed up/irrelevant/perhaps bitter?
Lauren Fleshman - picky bar tattoos
Magness - irrelevant/canned
Massage Therapists - who knows?
And what they have presented (hearsay), it seems like Al Sal wins trial. Be interesting to see the appeal.
"None of our athletes are on any sports-specific supplement other than beta alanine, which is an amino acid. Other than that, its iron, vitamin D and thats it. You dont really need anything else."
That was one of sleazy's lies. What about the massive number of TUEs and thyroid drugs? What about them?
"It is impossible to be a world class runner or win Olympic Medals without PEDs," Alberto Salazar.
Did you know that a few milligrams of testosterone cream is all that is necessary to trigger a positive? Indeed it has been shown that merely inhaling molecules can be enough to show an immediate 12% boost in performance. Who knows what damage somebody with an aerosol can can do.

ROJO mentions being on the phone all day with his sources? In other words you were on the phone with the Goucher's and with Magness asking if they have any physical evidence for their claims.
It is so sad you can't just admit that unless someone comes forward with more than "he said she said" story that indeed, Salazar may indeed be paranoid and on a power trip, but there is no concrete evidence of doping.
Additionally ROJO I think your time today might be better suited to speaking with your lawyer because Heaven help you with Nike comes after you.
From the beginning of this story you have been reveling in bringing Salazar down. Unfortunately with your time clock on the front page yesterday you just look like a petulant child who has had their toys taken away from them.
Finally as hayward102 just pointed out, you might think about reading Salazar's rebuttal 3 or 4 more times as your analysis has been refuted once again. Man-up and admit you were wrong otherwise your already shaky credentials will be non-existent.
I don't think the drugs being discussed have much if any benefit as a PED. From my personal experience as a coach and athletes I have heard about, the only ones who have benefited from those drugs are the ones who have some type of problem. I don't know of anyone who became world class who wasn't already world class from anything but a true steroid or blood doping. Even some of the banned substances like amphetamines, besides helping you lose weight, I don't think they help you run faster than you are already capable of. I have seen athletes experiment with antibiotics, inhalers, allergy meds, aspirin, high dosages of B12, Iron, caffeine and OTC male enhancement products, etc. Perhaps a few may have gotten a slight benefit, but they found latter they were able to run just as well without those products. Athletes were doing a lot of things during the 70s and 80s and a lot of it was out in the open. I have seen athletes selling products to other athletes at track meets. In the late 90s, inhalers became popular among athletes in all endurance sports at every level, but with in a year or two most of the athletes had stopped using inhalers and the only ones who continued were the ones who actually had asthma. - I don't know of a single athlete who made any major improvement unless they were taking the hard stuff.
What massive number? Two? Come on dude, you have highschool runners on more meds than these cats.

I'm not sure why you are juxtaposing these particular statements.
Thyroids drugs are not "supplements."
What massive # of TUEs? Salazar says it's a small number. Do you have evidence that he is lying? If so, let's see that evidence.
His statement about needing PEDs to win came before WADA. He later said the introduction of WADA meant the sport was cleaner.
My mom has a serious lung condition and has been on and off prednisone for many years. It does help her breathe better but the side effects (bloating, weight gain) would make me question why or how this drug could be a performance enhancer.
I find it interesting that the posters on this board mock Salazar for his prescription use of androgel. Contrary to the witch hunt mentality of the website founders and their followers, there are actually medical uses for steroids.
It's sad when the website founders post any article critical of NOP without hesitation. It reminds me a bit of the Rolling Stone piece that accused a frat house of rape and did nothing to corroborate her story.

How exactly?
Ive read this thoroughly. I can see that it is a thorough rebuttal. I also know that it won't be sufficient to quell the onslaught of NOP haters. I have concluded that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that anyone can say from NOP that will be acceptable except "We are guilty of cheating...you caught us" For me, this issue is dead. Until USADA or IAAF or other authorities want to get involved and do a complete review, the allegations are nothing but hearsay and accusations.
Don't like my review??/ tough! I don't like all of the ranting from people who aren't involved and have no knowledge.
Cheers
I would just like to take a minute and welcome all of Salazar's PR people to Letsrun.
Hi Fellas, hope you're enjoying damage control day:) Get than green from NOP while you still can.
Also, some of you clearly need to work on your trolling skills

That is for the PR firm to figure out for themselves and write a rebuttal post. Any knowledgeable runner or coach would know exactly how.
I think it's strange that so many people are happy to exonerate Salazar so readily.
Whilst he's done a solid job of defending his corner, and the initial accusations lacked an irrefutable proof of organised doping, there remains a justifiably huge cloud of suspicion around the whole situation.
Knowledge of the history of doping in athletics is enough to retain healthy scepticism towards the NOP and as many people have pointed out, I don't think there's ever been a training group that has fallen so strongly under suspicion that hasn't ultimately been shown to have been cheating.
_________
Salazar's response is fascinating and reads like a manifesto from someone with a personality disorder, it's not enough to show evidence against claims, he vengefully attacks his accusers. He's clearly an ogre of sorts and rules with an iron rod, surrounding himself with complient yes men and submissive assistants. So much so that I would conceive that if he is indeed running a non-legal program, I doubt anyone outside himself in the NOP actually knows the details. He clearly compartmentalises people and will rarely have allowed relevant parties to intertwine, Alberto's world is all consuming and you don't go against the king, the strong loyalty he engenders crushes people when he withdraws. It's all classic stuff.
There are likely very few people who could finish him off, and maybe none are on the outside yet, something that likely only the powers of Tygart or even law enforcement would even be able to change, if they pulled out a key guy in the chain.
Or its all a nonsense. What makes sense to you?
We shall see.

It is getting easier to point out the PR firm posters. They have little knowledge about T&F, and don't know the LRC lingo.

This is the normal practice for PR firms. There are not "so many" of them. There a just a few posting over, and over, again. This is now obvious after 400 posts on this thread. It is even obvious when some of them "tweak" the language in attempt to prove they are a different poster.
Alberto is the greatest distance coach ever! Why is everybody so angry with him?
