The Johnnies have a real issue facing them with their lack of depth. Their 6 and 7 runners were a long way back at conference and that distance will only be more and more significant in the next two championship races. We've seen recently what kind of damage lack of depth can cause at nationals if one of their top 5 has an off day (see Hamline).
If you're the Johnnies, do you run Mitch VB (8th runner at conference) because of his potential upside? I know this is an obvious statement, but he still didn't look healthy at conference and it seems hard to believe he could turn it around in 2-3 weeks.
