Today it was time for an easy steady 63 min ( 9 km ) @ 7 min / k . Very easy done with light breathing but very sweaty ....it gets very warm running indoors .Tomorrow a ' potent ' threshold interval again . 🧙♂️
On another note. I believe I can get to max potential without any of that structured stuff Jans is doing, just 'running' and doing the mix of what is required. Have a 50 year history of marathons now and I am one of those who gets a very high success rate at 'marginal' performances. Almost always if 5km is x or 10km is y and marathon should be k, then I nail that. Got a lot to do with race mind set, economy and pacing as well
That is good of you I say. 🖐 None structured training functions as well of course with many examples in history of running . But is it the very best way when it comes to reach maxed out individual results? Then of course the vast majority of runners and coaches say no.
An old exampel of this I say was the famous coach Woldemar Gerschler who once was interviewed about ' Fartlek' ( Swedish for ' speed play ' ) and why he didn't use it in his method. His answer : " It's not EXACT " .
When I say 'without any of that structured stuff Jans is doing' , its just that. It doesn't mean that I am just out there running. I ran my first marathon 49yrs ago, then ran at State/National (podium) level, club coach etc and 'coached' many runners successfully. I am not a so called pro coach. Running is not that technical imo to require tech input daily or weekly. Most of the failures come from the approach, mindset, plan, and almost all I've helped to a goal achieved it. As I said, I personally have a high strike rate on 'marginal' times, and even when I 'podiumed' and nationals, I was a 'B' elite that just prepared (mentally/physically) well, and raced extremely well.
Zero reason for Jan not to do this, if he's serious.
But of course, we already know he's not. They'll be an excuse why he can't upload runs to Strava. Why he can't commit to a race or share any actual real training data with us.
3.....2......1 it'll be coming.
Jan, can't wait for your excuses. First one will definitely be about why he won't or can't upload anything to Strava.
Well this was predictable.
The scammer J.S. keeps admitting he's a scammer, so there's no question about that anymore.
He hasn't even completed a 5k in 8 years.
What rubbish! I completed 9 k today even if very easy pace to me and on treadmill. 🧙♂️😎

I congrats you to as it seems a very good and long career both as a runner and coach. 🖐🙏🧙♂️ You must have alot of happy memories like me from your running and coaching ..... 🙏🖐
What do I have to do in training to be sure to be close to sub 20 ?
Well, if/ when I can do my threshold intervals @ 4:15 min per km pace or faster + I can do my maxVO2 intervals @ 3:55 min per km pace or faster, the first race try can be to run a sub 20. 🧙♂️

Seriously, as my training feels now running sub 20 will be no problem this year. I even have started in my thoughts to aim for the Swedish age group 65+ record 17:13.....but it's really very good and I'm not sure I will break it this year. 🇸🇪🧙♂️🇸🇪
First try to run under 27 minutes, then it's "only" 7 more minutes off.
Then start by dreaming again to go sub 19 instead 17:13
Well , a good proposition but it will fail on the caveat I never can start another thread again on LRC , LOL 🤣😃🧙♂️😎
But you could do another good thing , it's up to you of course, to donate £2000 to a childrens cancer fund if I break 20 min at 5 k . It would give me even more energy boost to make it come true. 🙏🙏🙏🧙♂️
If I wlll fail the sub 20 min with at max 10 sec maybe you can donate the £1000 to childrens cancer fund?
If I fix the sub 20 it will be in an official race so no one can question the result .
The training leading to the result I give here almost every day . As I told I will try to send photos and videos sometimes from my training. 🧙♂️
Ok. We can remove the caveat of not posting on Letsrun again.
But the offer still stands and you need to post all your training to somewhere like Strava in real time, so we can see you are actually doing this and what your training looks like.
We all know you won't, which is why I posted what I did. Which is a shame, as was more than happy to have some fun with it and get a charity a good cause.
So the offer is the same, without the LRC clause.
All you have to do is:
1. Post all your training with data so we can see it.
2. Run sub 20 in a race.
Even if you fail in the race, I'll donate £1000. £2000 if you run anything under 19:59.
It's a very, very simple proposition and the entire onus is on you for this very basic challenge (that you claim you will do anyway).
So there is absolutely no reason not to do it. Ans as we can see, there are others who will increase the amount you could earn for the charity.
Everyone here knows YOU WILL NOT agree, even though it's incredible basic what I'm asking.
Because you aren't not training. You are not running and your training doesn't work. But, I'm willing to give you a final change to prove it and prove this to yourself whilst making good for others.

Well, I'm training seriously. I do what I say I do.I post photos and videos sometimes at my instagram and facebook from the training I do as a proof of it. You find my Insta at jancoachjs and my facebook group Coch J.S , The Magic Wizard and my main site there Jan Stensson. It's easy to follow what I do in training with my the Dancan System when I put up what's done almost daily . It's up to you and others interested to donate your money to a childrens cancer fund out from the result will be in a first official race 5 k this year. But as I told the first race atempt will only be when I out from my training results will see I'm ready to break 20 min with my own the very effective the Dancan method. 🧙♂️

Well, now I only train on treadmill probably over next month too due to the Swedish winter. I put up photos and videos of my training sometimes . It's just to read from the panel of the treadmill what I do.Isn't that evidence enough?

Start treadmill, check, input 14km per hour, check, stand next, not on the treadmill, check. stop treadmill after 1 hour, check, take picture of panel and send in as evidence, check

Hahaha! 🤣 And then I get that extremely sweaty standing next of the treadmill as the photos I posted at my social media yesterday ?? 🤣 And just to mentioning how annoyed other runners would be have to wait for a treadmill to run on . 🤔😉🤣

JS, don't underestimate the mental aspect of running 4:00/km for 20 minutes straight. you haven't run with this kind of intensity and duration in a long time. some intermittent time trials on the way to sub 20 might be helpful. First time is a big ask, especially if you are JUST in 19:5x fitness.
Though I know some runners are quite adept at going all the way to the bottom of the well, while others really need to be talked into it and worked into it. I'm sure you will say you're the former.

he could very easily be lying, but then again, he's made posts like this for the past 4 years or so, and in the past was always honest when it was "not feeling good, didn't get out for a run," or "sorry, didn't have time!" etc. etc. So I'll give him some trust points for being honest about those shortcomings in the past. Never close to 100% trust though. It's just the internet.

I have just checked your social media and I can't find any such photo.

Good comment from you I think. 🖐
I can't run 5 k @ 4 min / km now of course , but it looks as you say I'm one of the runners who by " muscle memory" adapts fast to improvement . And as I've told before I have seen at hillreps and shorter sprint strides I'm still fast for my age. It helps alot....
I plan to do a TT 5 k next week and try for 25 min . 🖐🧙♂️🖐
