He is actually struggling a little bit to find friends he relates to as he lives in suburbs now which has a way smaller variety of people than southern CA.
Dude is a 200+ pound gym rat who plays metal music.
For sure he was not happy with the mid terms and I was gleeful. We just intentionally don't talk politics much. He says he is very right wing but pro choice. He also sports Trump gear. We are pretty cool as long as we avoid talking politics.
The Adult in The Room, I believe him when he says he has hippy friends he does not talk politics with. You can be friends and have opposite politics. It's actually a healthy thing. He comes off pretty strongly here on the message board but in person he may be a totally solid dude. We shouldn't judge people so harshly.
We talk on the internet in a way we probably would never in person. Guilty as charged like 90% of us.
I wonder how people would talk if you had to use your real name with your real address and number listed with it.
I've had 3 people on this forum want to come to my house.
I'm going to have a wild guess that this is yet another lie.
Show the posts where people want to come to your house or you are caught with another lie.
Because it takes longer to count votes in urban areas (which are predominantly Democrat), than it does in rural counties (which are predominantly Republican), due to the significantly higher number of voters (and votes) in the cities. How hard is it to understand that?
Why is this though?
Definitely not by that kettle logic. Cities may have more voters and more votes, but they also have more people available to count them.
It is pretty strange to see a statewide result for governor and senate counterpointed by a 2 to 1 ratio the other way in the house.
Republicans lost because of quality of candidates and being too woke. They had more election deniers and non-binaries running than Dems and then, of course, they had the likes of Lake and Walker. Easy wins for some of these candidates.
Ghost of Gary and AdultinRoom go home devastated with their Flagpolian predictions. Lol
Democrats lose the House and declare victory...LOL
LOL? LOL?? You are laughing? Democrats have had historic midterm results and you are laughing because they see this as a victory? The election results are a HUGE victory for the Democrats and a HUGE defeat for the Republicans. To all those who were taunting the Democrats about the big red wave and making fun of them about all the tears they would be crying (remember?) must feel pretty bad and foolish.
This very narrow win for the Republicans and losing the Senate are results that are amazing for the Dems.

I've had 3 people on this forum want to come to my house. There's a diseased subset of liberals that lose their minds when they're disagreed with.
You can't discuss politics in America any longer. The divide is too great and both sides are working with their own sets of facts.
That's pretty disturbing. I would have a coffee with you as a lib (I don't drink). Despite disagreements, I can see when you are speaking from reason and logic. I'm not so married to my views that I'm not flexible enough to be unable to see the other side of the argument.
A lot of differences (not all) are philosophical and not a hard factual right or wrong in my opinion. There's no reason to hate on someone's philosophy. It's just how they see the world.

We must remember that Democrats paid lots of money to elevate the election deniers so that they would win easily against them. It was very manipulative and it makes it look like republicans are all extremists which is not true at all.
I lean to the left but lets not get too cocky. The most amazing thing about election night is the unpredictability. Let's not get overconfident. It could easily swing back the other way in the not too distant future. We won for now. There's still a lot of work to do. The supreme court is majority ultra conservative. The Republicans still have the house.

Go Joe Biden!!
No... you've just been told to think this by your overlords.
Losing control of the House and becoming a lame duck administration is only a "HUGE victory" if you have no idea how government works.

I'm perfectly reasonable. I believe everything I believe for a reason and I can explain why with facts and evidence.
People who can't get emotional when their ideas are challenged.
People like this are all over this forum. I wouldn't even say they have a philosophy. They've been programmed like bots and any deviation from what they've been told triggers outrage.
No. We all hurt. Boebert has no business being anywhere near government. The fact that the GOP are fine throwing her up their as one of their own is incredible. It has nothing to do with policy either. Respect the hell out of Liz Cheney, and she supports almost everything opposite of what I support.
Is this what the republican party is about now? Propping up the worst kind of candidates? Because she's "red" you want her representing you?

It was not an easy win in the case of Walker, what does that say for the democrat who won? People better wake up, there are too many lousy people winning elections on both sides.
A landslide victory doesn't mean a good candidate won either. It just means they are surrounded by people who like their crappy brand.

You claim you're not a liberal yet you openly admit you disagree with Liz Cheney on "almost everything" with the "almost" being the maniacal TDS you share.
How is AOC any better than Boebert? How are the anti-semitic America loathing members of the Squad any better than Boebert?
Both sides prop up horrible candidates.
Both sides have very different definitions of horrible.
Republicans run on their beliefs.
Democrats run on what they think their beliefs should be to get a elected. They all pretend to be moderate and then jump to the left the moment the election's over.

Or it means that anyone elected to office these days is a rubber stamp for their party's votes in congress.
So Democrats vote for dead guys and brain dead guys because "at least their not Republican" and vice versa.
The problem is Democrat ideas are all terrible and do more harm than good.
