Does the US 10k team all have the chance of getting lapped in the Olympic final?

Was really rooting for True, dude's been one of my favorites for a long time. With how close he's come and how consistent he's been for so many years, it is sadly fitting for him to get fourth here. I guess it's time to be all in on Fisher and Kincaid for the 5k so that he can scratch onto the team

…are you familiar with the stories of the American runners in that race who were born in Africa and how they achieved citizenship? Stupid racist comment that you made.
Shut up a-hole. It didn't matter if they were Swedes, they came here because it's easier to make an American distance event than in their native country.
And they do it with other countries too all over the world. Their own countries are not happy losing runners to other countries.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about

Kenya ran about a minute faster at altitude.

It's irrelevant.

They should probably have prelims…
You know... it's pretty amazing that the field included 3 guys who ran in the Foot Locker National XC Championship race in 2003 (Rupp, True, Lomong).

We are doomed then 😔

No, you don't. You're unbelievably naive.
The photo used of True on the 2003 broadcast is about as "Maine" as you can get, it's worth a watch just for the photo

Have you heard of WCAP? Do you know how it works?
Lopez is a refugee from sudan. I’m sure it’s harder to make the american team. Are you genuinely this stupid?

Those guys you are speaking poorly of tended to have gone to US colleges and wanted to stay. They chose to serve in the military to do so. They took advantage of an opportunity afforded to them as immigrants to earn citizenship, and they have done nothing wrong in doing so. This isn't like East Africans changing allegiance to Bahrain or Turkey where they were essentially paid to do so.

Lomong dropped out. Wow
i'm guessing that was the plan all along.
doping is a serious thing.
Heartbreaking 10k. I am a huge Ben True fan. Loved the young guns making the team, but man Ben...please make the 5k team!!

+1 precisely
Bottom line, racist comments can dress it up with all sort of rationalizations, but racism is racism.

Dammit. Ben True looks crushed. Knew that if it came to a kick he couldn't stick with the young guns.
Ugh. He went for it too.
most over-rated runner on Letsrun. By a mile.
