Let's be serious, he may have beaten Hocker (after Hocker did all the work), but he should've been in the A heat if he wanted to live up to the figure he tries to flex on these college kids. That meet was set up for guys to run fast times, and I'd say it's pretty soft for a 1500m Olympic gold medalist to be in a B heat of a 5k that is mainly made up of U.S. runners. Also, Cooper ran way faster that day and come the trials, I see no reason why Teare and Hocker couldn't finish ahead of Centro/Ciliantro. I'm not saying they make the team(I give them each a <10% chance), but Centro needs to come to the fact that he is not the same runner he was in 2016.

This doesn’t make much sense to me. Centro ran 3:32 as the top American in the WC final in 2019, and last time we saw him he was outkicking Hocker while smirking a bit because he knew it wasn’t a great look for an Olympic champ. There’s a decent chance he runs another 3:32 and sub-13 yet in his career, and he has a far better than 10% chance of making the team.

I’d love to build these young guys up but they just come off straight disrespectful. I wasn’t talking sh** on podcasts about guys before me like Galen. I medaled at worlds when I was 21 and still respected the guys that came before me. Coopers best finish at NCAA’s is 6th? And he taking shots at former coaches and me like he’s arrived. Love to root for my alma mater but some of these guys making it hard. Much respect to Cole though. Major talent who seems to rep U of O well

If he never ran sub 3:40 again, he'd still be a better runner than Teare probably ever will. Teare has no business trashing on other runners. There is no reason for that disrespect. I've only ever heard bad things about Teare as a person. As far as I know, Cole is legit though. Seems like he knows how to respect people off the track.

Who cares? Centro is 31 and this guy is 20. They are both within the same age division. I could understand a 41 year old Centro saying this crap but this is literally like a 90 year old talking crap on a 79 year old.

Evert Silva seems really dumb. As loud as he is, I'm pretty sure my 11 year old's group of friends would talk circles around him, logically. The girl posting on the ig comments about Evert's physical traits is probably spot on.
Cooper Teare is an introvert that has seemed to attach onto Evert (rather than the other way around) because he thinks Evert is super cool.
Although I don't like them, I give a little more credit to Wesfly who while have a tone and style that completely turns me off, they seem to know what they are doing and have a bit of wit and brains behind it all.
The athlete special feels like the smartest of the young running youtubers. Makes sense he went to Georgetown vs. some of these other schools of youtubers.
In all this mess, remember that 2016 Olympic men's 1500 meters was one of the worst tactically run races ever in Olympic history.
Centrowitz got lucky and has been a douche about it since.

Pretty amazing that 9 sub 3:31 runners couldn't beat a guy who'd lose to a bunch of high schoolers.
