Down goes the Dow

well not much good today obviously.

I'll just write the good points so I don't have to drink myself to sleep.

It wasn't a 'throw everything over the side' day. Other days have been.

People are thinking about what to sell or not to sell or buy.

For example, REITS were fine - flat on the day. High yield bonds did fine. Down, but just a few basis points. Gold was up strongly.

The Vix is at 37 - very high and that is still a good buy signal. Up 10% today. Not a huge increase.

emerging markets were down just half a percent or so.

I've been buying in small bits yesterday and today.

And any kind of balanced portfolio did ok because bonds were up so strongly.

if an account is just 30 or 40% stocks then it was barely down today.

Yesterday was propped up by the news that the Fed would be cutting rates by 1/2 a percent.

They actually did it today....and the market went down.

They are out of tools now.

There are no zero returns for his historically bad Hussman Strategic Growth fund. NO, only NEGATIVE returns. NEGATIVE year-to-date, NEGATIVE 1-month, NEGATIVE 3-month, NEGATIVE 1-YEAR, NEGATIVE 3-yr., NEGATIVE 5-YR, NEGATIVE 10-YR, AND EVEN!!! NEGATIVE last bull market!!! The fund is down 3.5% in 2020.

yeah the anti-Sanders hedges have to come off really fast, which will bring some buying pressure into the market.

If Bloomberg suspends as is being predicted, you can hand Joe the nominations.

As a lower middle class investor, I don't understand the fear of a Sanders presidency. Speaking strictly as an investor.

Medicare for All does not increase overall healthcare spending in the country. Even the studies that say Sanders will increase the budget by $2 trillion point that out. It is already a sunk cost largely forced on the back of the employers. M4A shifts that cost on to the government and takes that burden off the backs of employers.

Take Ford Motor company for example, which I own. Last year it was noted that Ford is paying over $1billion/year in health care. Under a Bernie Sanders plan all of that come s off their books. Plus all the businesses to whom Ford sells fleets of Truck and Vans will see their health costs come off their books giving them more money to invest in Ford's products. To help pay for it Sanders will increase taxes on people like the Ford Family who control Ford.

Why should I have a problem with that?

Dow set to open up 500. Biden bump, or mere speculation?

Does anybody know anyone that has actually voted for Biden?

I sure don 't.

Somehow his share of the votes is twice what all the polls were saying.

Looks like a massive theft being committed out in the open.

Indication of instability, so not necessarily good.
