The past several pages has clearly shown us that maga (at least the ones posting here) are hard core racists. That is the Trump effect. He didn’t make them racists, but these people would have only voiced their hate and prejudice in private spaces years ago. Now they feel it is fine to say it in public. Despicable people either way. On a bright note, they are more easily identified and the red hats make it obvious even when they don't speak.
You cannot understand why Trump was elected without mentioning an uptick in racism and the permission Trump gives people to express that.
Historians a hundred years from now will see the primary driver for his election that people were "fed up" with status quo of having to hide their racism. They wanted a society where they didn't feel shamed for their racist opinions.
