Zero interest rates wasn’t what you think it was.

Earnings growth is only one metric and not a meaningful gauge of economic expansion.

Now tell me, what is normally done when the economy slows or goes into a recession? They cut interest rates to spur growth. So near zero interest rate certainly were a wind behind the sail of economic growth. And yet, the economy grew at 2% or less per year, and earnings of companies (who are the ones that pay a lot of people salaries) hardly grew at all.

“It’s quite common to reopen a background check,” Psaki said in agreement.

“It is something that was done when I was in a Democratic White House when it was requested by Republicans,” she added.

I agree with everything you posted. Definitely his weakest book. My guess is he knew he would no longer get any inside scoop so he decided to cash out with this book. On your last point, as I read it I kept thinking if I’m a leader of an enemy nation I would be viewing the recklessness and dysfunction of this adminstration as a once in a lifetime opportunity to further my nation’s interests. We are lucky that a time limit will contain some of the damage, but still we have been in a heap of trouble. If Americans are brain dead enough to re elect him I think the country has no hope going forward. I do believe other leaders globally are aware we have a 5th grader in the WH so they are simply waiting for the next leader to get things back on track. The reputational damage is probably irreversible though - it’s very hard to take the US seriously when you know this is how it’s being run and that it’s even feasible for a pea brain to win.
