I saw something recently that summed up the current philosophy from the right as:
There is a “in” group of people for whom the law protects but does not bind. And there is an “out” group of people for whom the law binds but does not protect.
Trump and his cronies are the “in” group and don’t believe it’s correct to be bound by the law. And so far, he’s been right.
That's absurd.
The ingroup had him impeached over out and out lies and then some nonsense and now is raiding his home.
And who exactly would this "ingroup" be, carmine? Come on, don't be ashamed of who you are. Tell us, carmine, who is this "ingroup"?
The Special Master is the straw that broke the back of yet another ill-conceived attack on the impunity of the best president of my lifetime. Will the libs ever learn? Trump is teflon.

I hate to admit it, but you're probably right. These high-level Masters are tough as sinew. When it comes to reviewing documents, Masters really roll up their sleeves and award custody to the aggrieved owner in well over 80% of cases. I can't see the Feds continuing this case under the adverse circumstances presented. They will have to file a dismissal fourthwide, and it's probably in their best interests to do so before the Master even further declassifies the documents down to nothing. Once proprietary interest in the documents left the adjacent jurisdiction of federal purview, that salient interest transferred by operation of law to Trump in his custodial role as a former executive holder under the inherent Constitution.
FBI already went through everything. I'm waiting to see what happens in Indictcember, followed by Incarcuary.
I warned tons of you to put the sharp objects away, because here comes your 4th or 5th largest disappointment of a recent lifetime. I said Trump might be found guilty of bad judgement and faulty process, maybe, but the notion of him being found guilty of a felony or doing jail time? Never happening, Some on here were in dream land from page one!! And what a waste of resources, not as bad as forgiving Student Loan debt, but what a waste, as that(Loan Forgiveness) is never gonna hold up either. And all it did was further destroy and make folks dig deeper into a flawed at best FBI. I don't even care if Trump runs or ran again, I am not some lunatic threat to the Republic or part of some fringe group, but this was an ill fated concept of weaponizing of Justice resource from jump street. Say what you want in response, and leave this thread up to later say how wrong you were.
Do you think Nixon should have been charged? He likely would have been charged, if he didn't make a cosy deal with Ford. Trump doesn't have a 'Ford'. We don't want Kings and Queens that are above the law. We will all see. Too many crimes. Far bigger crimes than Nixon.
Haha! I don't think that article says what you think it says. In fact, it seems to be describing and criticizing you rather than supporting your views. I think you got misled by the enticing headline, and didn't read it (or read it and didn't comprehend it).

What did Nixon do?
REally nothing
Your are a fraud, carmine9. You complain about lack of transparency but excuse the cover up of campaign finance laws and conspiracy for burglary.

He was complicit in trying to cover up his administration’s connection to the break in of the offices of the Democratic Party. There are a few movies on the subject, assuming books aren’t your thing.

Trump has faced virtually no consequences for his numerous illegal activities. He was rightfully impeached for pressuring a foreign head of government to announce an investigation of his political rival and also for inciting a riot in an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power at the end of his shameless administration.
All of that is distinct from what’s he done as a private citizen. He’s a fraud and he’d sell out his own flesh and blood, as well as his country, if he thought it would benefit him in the least.
Standing at a podium in Philadelphia, US President Joseph Biden recently sought to leverage the heritage of a city that gave birth to our American democracy while making such a fiercely partisan speech that its ultimate legac...

The special master is unlikely to do anything much to help Trump other than to delay charges, if charges are coming. It also is worth noting that the judge's decision is poorly reasoned. An injunction requires a finding that Trump is irreparably harmed by the government's grab of some of the documents. Essentially, she wrote that because Trump would be deprived of the documents that are his, rather than the government's, for a temporary period of time, he is irreparably harmed. That isn't irreparable harm -- it is temporary harm that can be remedied at law by return of documents that are his at a later date. I expect the DOJ to appeal.
And of course, none of the "harm" would have occurred if Trump had returned the government property one of the times he was politely requested to do so or, barring that, had kept them all segregated in a single place under lock.

He meant in the grand scheme of things Watergate was a Nothingburger. Weaponizing the IRS, FBI and DOJ by Biden et al. is 10,000 times worse.
