I looked into Ms. Monahan's situation. What she claims is that she was abused. The abuse was her boyfriend, Ellison, yelling at her, and her at him, while they were breaking up. That seems like a very common reason for breaking off a relationship. Relationships do not tend to end nicely.

This whole thing with Kavanaugh is absurd even if her account is accurate.

Two very drunk high school kids, minors at the time, harrass a girl at a party. That's it! Nothing happened. She left unharmed.

She even says that him and the friend were goofing around, fighting and wrestling with each other while they were attempting to "assault" her. They were drunk, goofing around . I'm sure she felt threatened, but nothing actually happened.

Given his unblemish record and the dozens of women and classmates that have vouched for his character, against this one purported instance from one individual, I definitely give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm really surprised this hearing is going forward. Maybe someone will dig up something from his middle school days in the 70s.

FWIW, I'm a "never Trump" brand of Republican, but this stuff against Kavanaugh is absurd.

Taken out of context and only reported being about the accuser in right-wing media. In context--not selected sound byes--she was speaking about BOTH the accused and accuser. She wants to hear from both sides, including the friend of Kavanaugh. Her Republican counterparts want no such thing.

No sex happened. And how do you know she wasn't drinking too? It was a high school party. You don't know anyone's intent that night. Or what really happened.

If it's no big deal, why did he "categorically" deny the story? He could have said, "that might have happened, but I don't recall it since I was drunk." Watergate could have been just a third rate burglary if Nixon had not tried to cover up.

Sure many HS kids have sex. Generally out of control hormones. But rape was always been rape. And forced sex is rape, even if a male cannot get it up to complete the act.

It looks like more and more people are assuming Trump has already decided to kick Kav to the curb and … gasp … nominate a conservative women for the Supreme Court seat … just in time to create a maximized November election bump in favor of Republicans.

The real questions is, when will Trump make the change? Will he make the change in TV show reveal style?
