What happens if Kavanaugh is voted down or withdraws?

Trump has the next judge lined up in his holster.

But there is now way you can resolve Kavanaugh, have a new appointment, new hearing and a vote before election day.

What if Democrats (unlikely as it may be)win the senate majority?

Can you have a Supreme Court confirmation in between an election and the start of a new Congress that changes hands?

Could Democrats delay a vote until January 3?

Over the years on this forum you've come across as a thoughtful guy with some keen insights. This makes it all the more puzzling why you seem compelled to rationalize the alleged behavior.

Trump will dump Kavanaugh. My bet is that he will nominate a conservative women just before midterms.

If he is done the GOP will have a harder time with another bad candidate. If he is done AND the GOP loses the House and Senate, the Dems can push off nomination until the next presidential election - it would be a massive political feat. If you consider a SCOTUS seat being of greater significance than any other then the Dems will explore this option for sure. There is always karma, remember when the GOP refused Obama’s lawful nomination? Sure they did it on the weak grounds that he was leaving office soon, but the Dems will be able to say it is their legal right to do it as well. Since the pendulum is swinging hard, a raw fight between Trump and a Dem House and Senate will be bloody but would end in victory for the Dems.

The first time I saw a picture of Kavanaugh I told my wife -- "that guy is a perv." There's a twinkle in his eye, or maybe it's hair haircut, it's just a dead giveaway. Guaranteed.
