It's almost as if they are trying to tell Kavanaugh to step back and save some face. I have little faith in the current GOP, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's back on track within a week, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he's done sooner than later.

On that note, the Supreme Court picks under Trump will definitely be the most consequential relics of his presidency. The US has demographically shifted progressive over time and will undoubtedly continue on that path, while judicially we go the other way. This growing gap between public sentiment and the way the legal system serves the public can’t lead to anything good. Only more polarization to come.
