Kinda feel bad that the guy ain't going to supermax prison or the gallows. He is a devious, lying jagoff criminal thug republican convicted felon. He deserves the death penalty for treason.

This guy did more damage to our democracy, trying in his lawyerly criminal way, to lay the ground work for a coup, than any of the foot soldiers that charged the capital.

He got off very easy. Probation with a 5k fine?

Does anyone have an inkling of how long it will take before defendant Trump is locked up, if he loses his trial? How long will sentencing take?

It could not come soon enough, but who knows if it will or could even happen. There is a 2 tier justice system and it shelters the rich and Trump has benefited from this his whole life. If Trump loses, he would first try every lie cheat and steal possible, then he is such a coward would likely self exile to Russia or off himself before going to jail.

There is a bright side to all of these people pleading guilty. To the trump supporter, the whole system is rigged against trump and them by extension. How they make that giant leap of pseudo logic is beyond reason, but it seems to be how they think. But when all these insiders plead guilty to a FELONY CHARGE and LESSER SENTENCING, it shows they are clearly guilty. Anyone on the fence about Trump is walking away. Only the die hards who won't listen to facts and reason will be left. That won't be enough to win any election.

In the Bathroom case, Judge Cannon is trying everything she can to delay it until 2025. No one knows when that much smaller case is going to trial.

In the Fake Electors case, the trial is still scheduled to begin March 4, 2024. That seems set in stone (unless Trump wins the motion to dismiss on presidential immunity or other defense motions which are all due Monday, October 23, by the way). If the case goes to trial, the prosecution predicts it will be a 4-6 week trial, which would put a verdict at around end of April 2024. If Trump is convicted -- which is a big If -- sentencing is typically 3-4 months after the verdict which would put it around July-August 2024. Judge Chutney would be faced with the mind-blowing decision of whether to send Trump to prison or just probation and fines. But if she did hand down a prison sentence, my guess is that she would allow Trump out on bond pending appeals, which would take at least two years. That's just all my uninformed speculation.

I don't, and this reminds me of two questions, both of which I'm surprised that I haven't run across answers to (I've never gone and looked):

1) Given his SS protection, CAN he be locked up, ever? Have they worked that out? Really surprised I haven't seen much of anything on this.

2) Same as #1, really, but potentially MUCH sooner: What happens when - say, tomorrow - the judge has grown sick enough of him ignoring the gag order and wants him in jail? Can or will that actually happen??

I do believe the answers are YES and YES. No kings. Court confirmed rapist Trump is not President. And SS will not be accompanying him in the pokey.

It sounds like you're saying ("no kings") that the answers SHOULD BE Yes and Yes. Of course, every non-Trumper agrees with you on that.

That doesn't change the fact that, I believe, he's owed SS protection for the rest of his life.

Like, in the Constitution? No. Court-confirmed rapist fraudster defendant Trump is not a magic unicorn President-for-life. He is owed fair criminal trials, and justice, same as ALL of us.

My guess is that there is a work around if he ever got a prison sentence. He would be in minimum security prison like FCI Butner to begin with, and I don't think they even have walls or fences in parts of Butner. So they install a trailer on the grounds for Trump and he hangs out there most of the day, with the Secret Service in their usual close proximity. Another way to accommodate his unique situation is house-arrest with ankle banger at Mar-A-Magal or Bedminster, where he can't leave a certain area until term is up. That would not be popular, but it is workable and cheap.

If it's Georgia Rico case -- then it's gotta be a Georgia prison.

The plea deal is for his Georgia charges, not for Jan. 6th.

And he gets a relatively light sentence because he's willing to testify about everything. And everybody.

Trump's Georgia RICO charges carry 5 year MANDATORY MINIMUM, per legal analyst Ellie Honig. Justice is blind. Rudy, Meadows, Trump, et al -- if they get convicted of the RICO charge, one after the other they will be sentenced to 5 years or more.

Cheeser's lawyer Grubster seems like he's violating the plea agreement (if it can be extended to the lawyer) by (1) talking publicly about the facts and (2) I think suggesting that Cheese is not guilty, but that he just took the plea deal because he had a gun to his head.

But the more concerning thing to me, as someone who would like to see all of these guys get convicted and serve some well-deserved prison time, is where Grubster seems to say at 8:12 - 9:12 that this plea agreement in Georgia somehow forecloses federal charges. That would be terrible for the federal prosecutors who, I assume, (1) plan on at some point charging Trump's Co-Conspirators 1-6 (Eastman, Giuliani, Cheeser, Kraken, Clark, Russian Boris) and (2) would like to get Cheeser and others to testifying against each other and/or Trump - federal prosecutors would have no leverage at all now if they can't charge the Co-Cons who Georgia convicts. So, if this is true what Grubs is saying, are the federal prosecutors now second-guessing decisions not to charge the Co-Cons right away and also pissed off at Georgia for getting in the way? Both Cheeser and Kraken deserve some prison, and I assumed it would be federal prison. Now it may be none ever.

Assuming Cheesy's lawyer is correct on the federal policy, it sounds like Cheesy could still be prosecuted federally for any of his crimes apart from that count of conspiracy to which he pleaded guilty. Lawyer putting lipstick on that cheese. Dumdum Donald's lawyer Sadow was similarly trying to put lipstick on his criminal defendant yesterday by saying it was important to note that Cheesy's RICO charge was dropped. Uhhh yeah Cheesy testifying against private citizen criminal defendant court-confirmed rapist/fraudster (and against Rudy Colludy and Meadows ets) is bad news in every way for aforementioned defendant.
