The watch produces the data that it produces.
Of course, if they were faking the data then they could provide realistic cadence data that would meet your approval. But if they're just uploading what comes out of the watch, then you get what you get.

There is some thing you haven't considered, Mimi wears two watches at all times, one on each arm. That's why we get heart rate data some times and other times not. We can also see which watch her cadence data comes from by checking the bottom of her Movescount pages. For example, here are two of her Moves, one from the Suunto Spartan Sports the other from the Ultra that doesn't have the monitor. Yet both show the same garbage random cadence data. Why is that? Why are watches from separate arms on her showing the same crappy cadence if your explanation of the left arm swing is too be believed? Or would you have me believe that Mimi and her team are always swapping watches between arms and choose only to upload from the left arm?

Actually ... I have considered that there are two watches and I've wondered why they don't upload them both to Strava for every run.
If both sets of data from a run are on Movescount that's great and it begins to allow you to cross-reference. I doubt they'll ever show the same numbers because the satellite locks are always slightly different but they should be very closely. Just like if you run alongside a friend the general stuff will be similar but the detail of a run will differ.
In term of crappy cadence all I know is that when technique isn't great my Garmin footpod doesn't register it accurately. Certainly having different watches on different arms eliminates the possibility that it's her differing armswings as the source of crappy cadence data.
So what does that leave?
1) Faking crappy cadence.
2) Some explanation we haven't thought of.
How can you be poor enough to not afford a Garmin and buy some other crap, but have enough money to mess about jogging around America?
Can probably get sponsored for a decent watch.

Whatever about the whole stunt- I'm actually seriously concerned for her well being at this point. She is 55 years old and does not look well to me.
If I was her husband I'd be saying, "Dear you made a good effort but you're not looking good. You need to stop now, let's recover and go home. You've done enough." Honestly I would put a stop to it and not let her continue. Not a control freak, but not going to let her destroy herself. Yes, if you want to claim an FTK or world record, it is the responsibility of the person attempting it to provide valid evidence. I shouldn't have to sit here with Mimi's garbage cadence data when I wanted to analyze it. Her whole chain of evidence has so many holes in it you can drive Rob Young in an RV through it.
Could you ask Mimi and her team for comment?

This brings up the question of how Mimi was even able to run up and down all those mountains in the first 2 weeks of the run if she has great difficulty even walking up and down a few stairs.
From Facebook posts from Mimi Anderson, Tim Anderson, Jenny Davis, and Becky George, I can see that they are aware of the evidence being gathered on LetsRunChat (LRC).
I challenge Mimi and her team members to either release video showing Mimi performing an entire day's run for the days so far in the record attempt. If no such evidence exists, then I challenge Mimi, her team, and on site film crew to start film non-stop video of the entire runs and releasing them each day.
I believe my challenge is fair and just and will provide Mimi and her team the ability to show whether this run across America is legitimate or not. Please let me know of your choice.

- Fake the data well and it's fake. Fake the data badly and that's just easier to do.
- The tracker doesn't work for the first two weeks, that was part of a plan to get some high miles in early and then once rumbled, Mimi would have to get on with it. The lower mileages now show she was scamming it. Couldn't possibly be that she set off too fast and has now had to slow down.
- Provide video of a dodgy armswing - it's been staged and edited. They must have got her to run funny when they did that so that when they take the easy route on faking cadence data, someone can point at it and say here's why the cadence may not be correct.
You seem to have got a bit carried away with trying to prove this is being faked. The internal logic and consistency of your own arguments is weak.
People who cheat don't go to these kind of extremes - they find easier challenges that aren't going to be heavily scrutinised.
I agree with all that. Scam_W is just the worst kind of troll, and deserves no respect. He has got no evidence or proof of anything untoward, but likes pretending he's some kind of guru on here, and making statements that he cannot back up. And he seems genuinely surprised that the team aren't replying to his emails. If I was getting badly written emails from some prick on the Internet, I'd ignore them too. Especially if I was busy, you know, trying to run across America!

I don't think they'll answer me either. As far as they're concerned, the Strava data is all they need to prove Mimi has done what has been claimed. They're not going to change their position. They know we would like, at a minimum uninterrupted video of Mimi running. They refuse to explain any of the many inconsistencies we've observed in the run when doing so would only help their standing. I feel like it is a lost cause at this point.
I'm mostly watching now to see who wins the race, and if Mimi is able to grit out a finish. Sorry to be pessimistic but the truth is there will always be questions about the first half of the run because of her team. We'll never know the truth.
