I noticed that when I first started following them on Strava some three weeks ago. Mimi is very likely getting regular updates on Sandy from her team. That seems obvious the run day after she crossed the Mississippi. She kept stopping logic places--at least for her team to park the RV, but odd places for anyone else--and then took off again. That happened at least three towards the end of was her longest running day.

Here is a screenshot of Mimi's raw cadence data without any smoothing, downloaded from her Strava for her Oct. 12, 2017 morning run. Notice she is using a cadence range from 90 spm all the way to 220 spm with some outliers. I would like to see Mimi and her team explain this garbage cadence data that I don't see any other Suunto users experiencing. Perhaps someone would like to send them a message they will actually respond to? They seem to like blacklisting communications from me.

To me the range looks mostly between 100 and 200. Believable if her running style is short fast steps but I haven't seen any video showing that. I think Suunto watches are just garbage for cadence data. Someone said Garmin footpods show irregular cadence too. Bad cadence data isn't proof of cheating. Look at other strange cadence data on strava from runners who aren't cheating.
I don't think there is any concern right now that Mimi is cheating. What I have seen it is all normal multi day ultrarunning behavior.
All these gps devices are not really made for verifying Trans Con runs or any other records. They are more fun devices for the most part. I can imagine that is the problem.

Yes it's really me. I am not a gps data expert. Yes, the cadence data is really high but maybe there is a weird reason for it.
As I said before, you can never really prove a Trans Con. If you want prove, do a race and that is actually the reason why there are races.
Trans Con's and FKT's are just fun things to do but not real records.

Going back to the old ways--some photos, people signing statements they saw you, and your word--always lead to people questioning whether the run was real. Then Pete K, and others?, came up with a significantly improved way--The Gold Standard. Like it or not that is much better than the old way. The Gold Standard can certainly be improved upon. With such an improved standard it allows individuals to do a transcon at any time, and for a race with multiple runners to keep tabs on each one.

The one video of any notable length we have of Mimi running shows she runs at about 138-144 spm. 200 spm is what you expect from a fast 5K runner at the end of a 5K sprinting, not someone someone struggling with a transcon.
And so far, I haven't seen any evidence showing the Suunto watch is the problem and I've been spot checking other people using Suunto watches and none have come close to the level of garbage cadence data we see from Mimi.
And with Sandy Garmin, we see her unsmoothed cadence data looks normal, not alien like Mimi's.
Mimi's garbage cadence data means that she now has zero credible proof that she is doing what she has claimed for he run and those magical first 2 weeks flying up and down mountains.

Yes, Pete's way is good and it convinces me that Sandra is doing the run. It's funny that there is no suspicious oddities about Sandra's Strava data but Mimi has tons and claims to be an expert runner.

Ugh. Yeah. I really want to believe Mimi's run is legitimate. I still think it probably *is* legitimate. Don't forget the claim that someone from Let's Run was "stalking" Mimi and subsequently arrested. Also, blaming the RaceDrone trackers for the gaps in data when we later learned they had been turned off and allowed to run out of charge. Richard was willing to involve a solicitor which leads me to believe he's telling the truth, especially given the other shady things we've observed from Mimi's people. The conduct of her team has been downright shameful.
Mimi knew what was expected of her before she set out on this run, she said so herself. Although she is a shameless self-promoter, I believe she had good intentions, which is why I put a lot of the blame for this mess on the people around her.

Actually I intentionally left those out, because while they may be evidence of exaggeration or poor behavior, they don't really figure directly into whether her run is legitimate, unless you just want to rail against the overall trustworthiness of the team. I mean whether or not there was a Let's Run stalker arrested really doesn't matter.

Fair enough. To me, those two examples are worth considering when trying to make sense of this. Mimi's team has done a lot to undermine their credibility. There's no way to prove 100% that any runner has really made it by foot across the country. That's why to me, trust and transparency are important factors in considering whether or not a run is legitimate.
Mimi is now 15 hours into the day and covered ~57 miles. I don't see and reasonable place for the RV to park for another 3+ miles.
